Fuel surcharge

Now the UK petrol forecourt prices are falling (up to 10 pence a litre) are we going to see the airlines reducing their fuel surcharges ??

Fuel Surcharge

Since the various regulatory parties raided various airline offices around the world as a result of investigating alleged collusion by airlines
any airlines that did not have a transparent method of explaining how they arrived at their surcharge figure certainly tended to put such a methodology in place pretty quickly after that
This methodology compares the movement of oil prices over 1 or more markets and if certain trigger points are reached for a certain period this will trigger any increase or decrease of the above charge
A lot of the major airlines show this methology on their sites
Apart from the above surcharge there has also been a security surcharge in place for some time and this had not changed hardly at all until recently when 1 European airline stated it may increase the security charge (this was for cargo)

I suspect also, that if the airlines were to be asked, that they'd suggest that they are only recovering a proportion of the added fuel costs, and not it all.
