Scatsta contract

As far as I am aware the long term contract to take oil workers from Aberdeen to Scatsta was never signed anyone know why not?

No chance of moving head office to aberdeen. Eastern is well established in HUY, plenty of willing workers, and low overheads.

Main worry now is how long the company can sustain itself with this volcano nonsense. Educated guess is that company burns £50-£100k a day??

Indeed, it appears that the contratc hasn't been signed, but equally it would also appear that there isn't another operator able to operate the route immediately, in the near or the long term future either, so what's rush?

I am only guessing. I would assume that most of the above figure is wages.

I echo that Deano777 I can think of a certain airline that has a contract ending Sept which was 4 aircraft with some returning sooner than Sept Im sure things could be juggled if they really wanted to! Im not too sure how many aircraft are needed for the contract?

Ex Regional EMB-135 has been registered to EASTERN AIRWAYS (EUROPE) LTD at Humberside as G-CGMB.

Slightly different name and address to the rest of the fleet - any significance to this?

Yes G-CGMB and G-CGMC. Are they delivered to Humberside yet?

They will not be for Dijon, 100% sure its J41 for it.

Hope it's for the HUY-ABZ route!

Even better would be an AF franchise HUY-CDG route!

Regards

Just remember who is now a majority shareholder of KLM - Air France.
1. There is no commercially vaible demand for a HUY - Paris route now or in the forseeable future.
2. If there was, it would be done by a AF/KLM partner, not Eastern.

As for the possibility of the EMB145 on the HUY - ABZ route, the SAAB is a much more efficient aircraft for that sort of service, as has been proved elsewhere, it can take a lot of pax and a lot of baggage whereas the EMB is significantly more restricted in that respect.
As things stand, HUY will probably be stuck with the JS41 but if the EMB does become a permanant feature on the ABZ route, fares will rise.
