'SB was flying around the ABZ circuit the other day, with a view to confirming its airworthiness.

Pleased to say it stopped in time!

Unsure if it's back in revenue-earning service yet.

City Star's Dornier now back in service.

Also a wee snip in my local rag that they are to launch a SVG-GRQ service from Sept. Don't know if this means the end of the SVG-KSU link they were operating.

Anyone in this neck of the woods know what the latest with X9 is?

After the arrival of the SVG & OSL flights last Wed evening, the two DO328s that flew the services positioned out of ABZ (presume up to Iceland).

Not seen any scheduled services in or out of ABZ since.

Is it in connection with their expansion, or is there another reason?

Hoping it's NOT the worst...

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies guys.

Just curious, were City Star operating these in their own right or on behalf of parent co. Landsflug.

Do Landsflug have first call on the Dorniers when required, just seems strange that you would "suspend" your scheduled ops. in favour of charters. I guess it must be lucrative enough for City Star to do so.

Anyone have any word on the extra Dorniers that were supposed to be on their way? Are they in Icyland just now, or has the parent co. taken them for their own use?

Finally SVG-GRQ notwithstanding, are we any closer to the extra routes (for ABZ) that the airline said they were in talks about, & any clues as to where?

Thanks.

Yes, X9 were doing the charters on behalf of Landsflug.
Not sure about the extra Dorniers though.

There are three flights coming in from REK today, one of the ABZ based dorniers, a J31, and another which I didn't recognise the code for on our screens at work (FRJ) some sort of regional jet.

The ABZ based A/C is positioning the crew back here for normal OPs today.
Also the J31 is G-BUVD of Eastern Airways. It may have been up helping with the charters

Anyway I'll keep an ear out at work.

Cheers

Re the "FRJ" I know the DO328JET that City Star/Landsflug have access to is due in ABZ today, may be that.

2007 expansion plans?

Well I've asked about T3, so I may as well ask about X9.

Thanks to Meeb for confirming 2 more DO328s on the way.

X9 were also recruiting for aircrew & cabin crew locally in the press recently.

Understand they are looking to expand at ABZ, but does anyone know where they would go to?

I had heard they may have a STN route in the offing (they used to hold LCY slots!) but nothing confirmed.

Where else would they go - more Norway (eg. HAU) or Scandi in general? They seem to like Norway.

They also do a fair number of "Man Utd" supporters charters for home games, be it Premiership, FA Cup or Champion's League.

Any rumours gratefully received.
