SONG stops singing today.
Delta's SONG subbrand will cease flying from today. The routes and personnel will be taken over by Delta itself. http://tinyurl.com/lvdzn

Ted will surely follow suit within the next 18 months?
It bemuses me why airlines still attempt to run a low cost airline within a traditional airline. Surely it just eats up markets the original airline should be operating themselves? Thats what BA found out with Go, and I think its what BMI are starting to notice, especially now they are advertsing Baby fares on flights from Heathrow.

DL are going to use the 757s on mainline transcon to move some of their transcon to intercon routes. The spin is that some Song features will become part of the mainline product so "it was worth doing, really it was"...
Too mean to buy a long personal title

As far as Song is concerned, part of me still wonders whether it would have been better for the company to have done away with the Delta brand instead of Song.

Surely just keep the Qantas name, which has massive reputation, on the route especially if there is no competition. Makes no sense to open up a low cost airline which would reduce potential yields and hence profit. Does anyone know if Jetstar brings in more money for Qantas?
