Air Wales - what???
Air Wales are really confusing as it seems that they have dropped CWL-BVA. RNS-CWL, MAN and WAT are bookable!
The PL-CWL-NCL-ABZ flights don't seem to be bookable beyond march!!
Now it seems the EXT-ORK and NQY-ORK are being merged into EXT-NQY-ORK!!
What is going on???

What indeed, tried to find conections to BRU via CWL using WOW from NQY then 6G but on some sectors the Air Wales flight times don't seem to make sense - they seem to have forgotten the time change in the calculations?
It works outbound but not inbound. It should on a Saturday except it is the one day Air Wales don't fly to BRU!!!
EXT-NQY-ORK might make more sense than NQY- ORK alone which frankly will struggle to ever stand up in its own right, the good news is though that I assume you could now fly NQY - EXT which would be really great!
I am sure there is some logic somewhere but I am struggling a bit to see where at the moment.
Still though I wish them every success.

There was a time when really useful information was posted on these forums, how on earth can such assumptions be made without foundation.

Topic header says it all.
Air Wales, either commit properly to ABZ or (& I think they should) just withdraw completely.
Their poor timekeeping hasn't helped them but just don't think there is sufficient demand on either CWL or NCL to ABZ(the latter sewn up it seems by EZE).

Whilst driving to work today I had the radio on in my car and then out of the blue came a Air Wales advert on the radio, I nearly crashed my car in shock! Could the word marketing be getting through to the chairman? I hope so.

I've heard the advert quite a few times now (on Real Radio) and very good it is too. Talking about seat sales, uses a decent jingle etc. Great!
I think something has got through, SC - well done to whoever managed it....

From the BBC:
Air Wales booked people on the 0700 flight. Pity the passengers didn't know that the airport was notamed closed until 0830 and the ATR was re-positioned back up to Cardiff on Friday evening!
Anger as flight fails to turn up http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/4562232.stm
The flight was to stop at Cardiff, Newcastle and Aberdeen
Air Wales has apologised after dozens of people were left stranded at Plymouth Airport on Tuesday morning.
About 50 people turned up to catch the 0700 GMT flight which stops at Cardiff, Newcastle and Aberdeen, but the plane failed to turn up.
Air Wales has issued an apology for the disruption which it says was brought about by a booking system error.
Air Wales says it will compensate passengers, who were taken by taxi to Cardiff to catch flights from there.
'Fed up'
Sarah Callard, from Horrabridge, was among the stranded passengers and was travelling with her eight-month-old baby.
"As you can imagine I'm feeling fairly furious," she said.
"We booked a flight because no-one wants to do that arduous journey. I'm really fed up and angry."
Air Wales general manager Peter McKenna said "Air Wales values its customers and takes its customer service extremely seriously.
"We will be revising our booking systems to ensure that this never happens again in the future."

I really hope someone from Air Wales reads this, feel free to PM me for the many reasons the following is so.
Exeter - Newquay - Cork is a waste of time, if I wanted to go to Cork from Cornwall I would have no option but to drive to Exeter anyway so there is no increase in the catchment area. In fact it is worse than that because assumedly fares from Newquay will be cheaper so you are taking money from your own pocket.
Much better fly one aircraft Exeter- Cardiff-Cork and a similar timed aircraft Newquay-Cardiff-somewhere, then all we residents of Cornwall could access anywhere on the Air Wales network- including Cork!
Please Air Wales think about this hub and spoke system.
Happy New Year

Groundhog,
and to confuse the network even more, the Summer schedule will be:
Cork-Newquay-Exeter (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Cork-Newquay-Plymouth (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday)

OUT OF THE BLUE....
Unfortunately though of the three routes I tried to match they only worked in one direction or the other, that said I am really pleased WOW are doing this and can't believe it has taken so long for someone to get on the NQY/CWL route again.
I think it will really work well for them!
As for Air Wales flying into PLH and EXT on different days.... words fail me!

Air Wales have consistently had network problems since they joined the ATR league but recent moves seem to be actions out of desperation to hold onto something rather than a co-ordinated growth. They sacrificed a reasonable schedule on Cardiff - Newcastle to try and support Aberdeen after failing to develop a Cardiff - Liverpool - Aberdeen market (as much through lack of reliability than lack of demand) and the announce a pot-pourri of service to give Aberdeen four a week in the spring, have ignored service on Dublin Cardiff to the extent that Arran were lured onto it in competition (with Ryanair still there), have announced Cardiff Beauvais with Baby still showing a Cardiff CDG service, been pushed off Dublin Norwich by Flybe with a 'similar' pricing model (where's the staying power?), lost the Baby franchise on Belfast so decided to go head to head on BHD vs BFS, with Arran also going onto BHD, gone 'back' into Brussels, hopefully to do it right but on a 'low fare' ATR42?, but still somehow managed to lose the race for Cardiff - Manchester to Southwest, surely a jewel in their crown if they did it right. All facts.
IMHO they should take time to consolidate and try to make Cardiff an unassailable fortress and become THE Welsh national airline, then start treading into others' patches when they have a firm base to do it from.
