Heathrow northside fire Mon 12 Dec

Seemed to be a significant fire in a northside building just east of the road tunnel (Customs House ? Renaissance Hotel ?) on Monday evening, 12 Dec. Very smellable at gate in T1 facing this area too. Returning 24 hours later, still fire engines in attendance and roads coned off.

Any more info ?

Yes, I had similar report from someone else. From whatI heard that very building (owned by BAA?) is burnt to the ground.

It was Customs. Don't know what was in it - they store all kinds of stuff, some of it worth £50 a gram.

Which is worrying if the fire was "smellable"!

Planes were clearly not the only things getting high that day.
