Flybe Cancels 27 Flights Today!

Yes thats right 27 just for a bit of weather. That doesn't include the flights cancelled due tech problems or the Dash 8 that got airbourne from EXT and turned back after 20 minutes.

How can Europes largest independent low fares Airline get away with it? I suppose the crews got a bit of a rest though.

Does anybody know of another Airline that cancelled as many flights today?

We were waiting for the SOU flight to arrive at MAN 1150STA, but about 1130 it came up on our screen, as Cancelled.
MAN was very bad today with weather. A lot of delays.
Eastern Airways had a bit of trouble at MAN, the inbound STN flight diverted to Cambridge, no point it leaving! INV flight, turned back to INV, and NWI diverted to LBA.

Not really Flybe's fault the fog descended today! They don't really need to get away with it, if it's not safe they aren't going to fly are they!

My point is they seem to have so many more problems than other Airlines.

What is the difference between Monarch and Flybe? Why can they run a schedule at Manchester and Flybe can't?

BA, Ryanair, Easyjet, bmi, bmi Baby to name but a few. 130 cancellations in the UK throughout the day according to the radio.

It is my understanding, that certainly on the 146 and I imagine the Dash 8 as well, that Cat 3 operations cannot be performed, same with virtually every other regional aircraft in the UK. The only landings taking place at MAN today were Cat 3, which meant only the bigger stuff was making it in.

Flying Fiona,

Do I detect a teeny weeny smidgy bit of a grudge that you might be weilding in regards to FlyBE.

Look at the aircraft that the airline you hate so much operate....they are not CAT III, so i am afraid its not down to the incompetence of the airline, its more a problem to be levelled at mother natures door.

For your information, BA/CX/KL/KA/PK/BD and many more airlines not to mention the Royal Saudia Airforce all had flights divert away from Manchester today.

The airlines were forced to cancel flights into Manchester today when XCD's were implemented based around the RVR minimum of the operating aircraft.

But then again my money says you will ignore all the above facts and put FlyBE's cancellations down to bad management etc etc.

Rob

P.S. I agree you are starting to become boring and repetative but i guess that is your aim.

FF. Get yourself a dictionary and look up the word 'positive', it could open up a whole new world for you.

Am I the only one who is getting hacked off with your agenda
against flybe?

Either have the honesty to say what your problem is with that airline, or stop your inane posts and give we Prooners and the staff of flybe a break.

Incidentally I am nothing to do with the airline.

Yes FF,

You claim to know so much about flybe/the aviation industry and yet lack basic knowledge of simple aircraft operations yourself.

Get a life.

FF all he/she posts are antagonistic posts aimed to start debate.

Quite simply, in answer to her post, if you cannot afford the luxury of Cat 3, you cancel when it gets foggy as parts of the UK and in particular some airports, are prone to fog!

What a non post and as already stated, a waste of bandwidth!

Flying Fiona. Is he or she, male, female or..?

If your just going to have a dig at me could you do it on the dedicated Flying Fiona thread on the jet blast forum.

If you would like to continue debating the in's and out's of Airline cancellations please do so in an adult like fasion please. Otherwise I will close this thread.

You cannot close a thread FF - only mods can do that. You can delete the whole thread. That is a priv that everyone who starts a threads gets.

See my PM.

FF,

Why have you closed your post on Jet Blast where you clearly stated that you would donate to Children in Need £1 for each reply posted by midnight tonight.

What a despicable trick.

Grrr

FF =............I leave to all my fellow PPRuNer's to decide!

Come on then FF, close the thread. If you do, we will all realise just how sad you really are. I mean your title thread smacks of someone new to real commercial flying, toeing the company line, without a thought for reality? Am I wrong?

Your airline has to divert out due to fog and the fact that you cannot operate CAT3, so what is your problem?

Hopefully the 190's will be CAT3 enabled?

FlyBe cancels 27 flights today....AND......It was foggy..BLIMEY

I was at LPL last night. You couldn't even see the aircraft on the stands from the terminal.

You can radar vector an aircraft to the ILS but can you radar vector the passengers to the aircraft?

Guess some people are just a bit terminally thick. How many hours have you allegedly clocked up and you still know nothing about low viz ops? Are you a cleaner or something?
