The Plymouth - Cardiff part of the Plymouth - Cardiff - Newcastle flight is also going. the route will continue on to Aberdeen, cutting out Liverpool.

What about PLH-DUB?

Could Air Southwest now start PLH-ORK/DUB?

Should attract more pax from Bristol's catchment bearing in mind RE's half hearted attempt at the route out of BRS. Wonder what will happen to the 6G DUB route from PLH. good news for EXT not so for PLH. However 6G have been frequent visitors to EXT with lots of diversions from PLH due to bad weather.

Looks like Air Wales are pulling the Dublin route from Plymouth as well. I can't see any seats on the route from January 2nd. I wonder if WOW will combine NQY - DUB with PLH rather than BRS? I reckon the new route from Newquay to Dublin has seriously affected Plymouth - Dublin yields and occupancies.

It does look as though 6G are all but giving up on PLH and switching to EXT, possibly because they are frustrated with the weather diversions.

I don't follow the idea of WOW combining NQY-DUB with PLH rather than BRS. The NQY-DUB is part of the route that commences at NQY, goes via BRS to LBA then returns the same way to NQY before going to DUB, following which the route is repeated to LBA until it finishes at NQY in the evening.

To go via PLH and not BRS would mean dropping the BRS-LBA sector. I can't see that happening. The route is performing well between two of the major financial centres in the country.

I think you are right about RE and ORK though. RE have been half-hearted at BRS although the rotations have been increased to four a week in the past few months. Given that FR is running a B 738 daily (or more accurately eveningly) from BRS to SNN (I have no idea how it is performing), one would assume there is a market for a daily BRS-ORK. In fact, there was and it is a mystery why RE reduced the six rotations a week frequency to three a week a year or two ago.

The 6G EXT initiative might give them a kick up the backside, albeit the 6G winter schedule is no better than RE's from BRS (4 rotations a week).

It will be interesting to see if there is any reaction from Flybe to this news. After all, EXT has been pretty much their sole domain up until now. If my memory serves me correctly, Flybe used to operate to ORK from BHX, I think but this route ceased last year.

Somehow can't see them letting 6G muscle in without some reaction. The only route they currently do to the Irish Republic is once daily to DUB from EXT.

great to see some competition at EXT - maybe now flybe will pull their finger out and get on with launching all these new exciting routes they are promising. airwales has scope to muscle in the BE action by adding their own DUB, GLA, LBA as BE only has a single frequency per day on these routes, but i'm sure 2 would be useful.
-also - noticed on the website a 4m expansion package being announced, not quite sure how it's going to work tho - the present terminal site is pretty constrained, unless they knock down that god awful flybe hangar on the left of the terminal.
anyone got any info on this?
also - anyone know if mr halsted is planning at action from EXT? - IOM possibly?

Think routing is PLH-CWL-NCL-ABZ and back daily. No night-stopping AWW a/c at PLH though so positioning in from CWL AM and back PM?

PLH-DUB route out but looks like PLH-ORK still in.

Apparently, no interest from flybe in EXT-ORK.

Heard by a good friend that aww crew dont even know what they are doing this monday.
Does this mean that they have not even finalised their winter schedule yet?
Are they still going to link PLH with ABZ, i see that LPL has been chopped.

Flybe had trialled EXTORK back in their Jersey European days in about 1999/2000.

The route used to be operated 3 times a week on the SD360. All tolled it lasted about 12mths at which time it was cancelled and a route commenced BHXORK with a connection provided using the EXTBHX flights.

The route ceased completely when the EXTBHX route was cancelled as the SD360's left the fleet as they were replaced by Q200's. Flybe's only Eire routes now consist of the daily EXTDUB and twice daily SOUDUB. As to whether Flybe feel the need to compete with 6G, this remains to be seen.
