Aero flight forced to stop operation

"Aero flight forced to stop flights

01st November 2005 The Airline Aero Flight with seat in Oberursel has for economic reasons no operating clearance anymore and may up from today not take off anymore. That was announced my the Luftfahrt Bundesamt today. The company itself told that on Monday all six machines were flown to Frankfurt. Tour operators like Thomas Cook, whose customers should have travelled by Aero Flight within the next days, want to search for other possibilities. Who booked directly with Aero Flight, should call 01805/899200 to get to know what is going on.

The airline shew surprise because of the decision. A spokesman confirmed that the six Airbus machines were put on hold temporarily. Aero Flight still would take care that the passangers who booked the airline directly will get to their destination on other flights. For the customers a hotline was set up. "We will not let them stand in the rain, to make them not lose the trust." a spokesman said. There were no safety problems. The airplanes would be "best maintained".

7500 passengers affected...

By the temporary standstill of the holiday airline, which emerged of the bankrupt airline Aero Lloyd in 2004, are according to the German traveller association (DRV) within the next days and weeks 7500 passengers of German tour operators affected. Their transport will be assured. The company Thomas Cook has according to the words of a spokesman booked about 1600 customers on eleven Aero Flight flighs on Tuesday. "We are confident of being able to transport all passengers with other airlines."

Up from October 1st another investor had taken over Aero Flight. The new owner, which is according to the media the investment company CS. Ltd, plans a new operation model.
According to that Aero Flight should retreat from the German holiday flight market and lease the fleet to others.

.... and 360 employees

Aero Flight was founded in 2004 by the former Aero Lloyd joint owner Bogomir Gradisnik (84) and the insolvence trustee Gerhard Walter to secure at least a part of the more than 1000 jobs. This day about 360 people work for Aero Flight. The airline operates from Germany and its destinations are among others Egypt, Bosnia-Herzegowina, Greece, Italy, Kasachstan, Croatia, Spain, Russia and Turkey."

The link does not work when being clicked upon. That is something pprune apparently does when adding the hyperlink settings automatically. For making the link work, click the adress and delete 2 times some letters out. 1st: %20 and 2nd: <br%20/>

Those are added by this site and not belonging to the link. After that it works.

If there are complaints about the insufficient rapid translation: It's my own. Just guessed this might be interesting after I saw a shorter article on yahoo.de. For looking everything up I lacked the time right now.

I believe a bunch of ex Aero Lloyd guys helped put this on the road, and now they go through it all over again so soon afterwards.

What a dreadful shame!
