New long-haul start-up at MAN

Morning PPRUNE,

has anybody heard of the new airline to start up at MANchester?
i dont really know much about it, but ive heard that theyre wanting to fill the gapping gaps to Asia and India, not to mention the Washington route what BD has near enough lost, below iare the routes ive heard,

MAN - DEL
MAN - IAD
MAN - JFK
MAN - HKG
MAN - BKK
MAN - SIN
MAN - SYD(1 WEEKLY)
MAN - ISB
MAN - LHE
MAN - ORD
MAN - SFO

i think they're using a few Airbus aircraft, maybe 332, and a couple of 767-300.

Please dont ask for the source because its someone close to the family, like i say i dint know if its just rumor or if it is going to happen, the routes they have chosen do look feesable.

please leave comments,

thanks

there's already two ORD flights Daily with BMI and AA seperately. A BA to New York. And i like travelling from T3 it's just less hectic and built with people in mind

Question Dare I Ask

Hi All,
Tell us do they need drivers, particularly for A332???
Maybe someone 'in the family' knows.

no its isnt Eurojet, that an all business outfit isnt it?operating some cessna c's

back onto the topic of this new long-haul startup, ive been scanning the A.net froum today and saw a post on BMI India routes, they dont seem to be doing very good, looks like BMI have cocked up once again. Like i stated above the downgrading of the A330 to a 757 was a stupid move in my view, again this gives this future airline a good reason to go all out on the IAD route particularly, maybe they might mirror the layout of the BD's buses.

I dont know which terminal they are planning on using, maybe T1 would be the best.

like i said above, i think its only in the planning stage, not even trhe routes have been confirmed, think its just a wish list at the moment, many airlines get to the planning stage and dont come to fruition, but we'll see!

cheers

bmi's decision to try the 757 on MAN-IAD wasn't stupid. The route was always marginal at best and once fuel costs started to soar, it always looked weak - especially compared to alternative uses for the A330. The 757 at least was one last throw of the dice to see if a smaller aircraft could improve the financials - it didn't. so it's gone.

much as I wish you were right - this won't happen.

A new start up would have to rely on all point to point.

BMi were struggling on IAD even though as Star Alliance they were principally feeding into United's (not quite big enough) hub at Dulles. Point to point only MAN - IAD forget it.

ORD is another similar example - going head to head with OneWorld (AA MAN-ORD) and Star Alliance (BMi MAN-ORD) would be commercial suicide.

I wouldn't invest my hard earned cash in someone so lacking in judgement.
