Will German HQ give them the cash?
I'm going to guess on something much more conservative - switch a few low performing charter routes over to an increase frequency on the destinations HH mentions. So AGP might get 2-3 per week from some of the points it currently gets one.
Would always welcome something more exciting than this though.

This news release was on the low cost Thomsonfly website. So I imagine that its to do with new bases and/or expanding the three existing bases at BOH, CVT & DSA.

Flyboh,
I think this has much more to do with integration between Thomsonfly charter & Thomsonfly no frills, as they've been talking about "unification" for a while, and I think punters and insiders alike are getting confused.
Looks like holidaymax has just got in on the details.

I believe the fleet increase will be the 737-800's that are coming, from where I don't know.
They will definately be flying the 738 from LGW, initially with DSA crew then LGW crew.
The charter side will still be typical charter offering hot meals etc but with sched passengers on board also, of who can pre order a meal if they want to. Also the 737-300 has now been retro fitted with ovens and trials are underway from BOH offering meals for sale.
I know the nordic 'DUO' is returning to Britannia Nordic in the next couple of weeks, so I assume we will be getting one of our 738's back to the UK fleet.

See that all these extra flights are already shown in the holiday brochures. They are really wanting to increase there seat only share in the UK hence where these extra aircraft are going to be based.
All good news Maybe thomas cook will be next?

You beat me to it in making this point.
For example in my neck of the woods it was announced two or three months ago that CWL would have a 738 based there next summer as well as the usual 757 (there is also a part time based 763 for transatlantics).
Furthermore, as you say, the announcement today is not really news at all because the flights have been in the Tui brochures for some time, or at least the ones I have checked such as CWL and NCL have been.
Again echoing you, this just seems a marketing ploy to give further publicity to the flights, pointing out that they can be used for 'low cost' seat only deals as well as for the Tui inclusive tour holidays already marketed.
I also concur with what others have suggested earlier in this thread in asking whether it wouldn't make things easier for the public to understand if the entire Thomsonfly fleet was branded as one entity with availability for 'low cost' flights as well as Tui holidays? Or is this already happening, with today's publicity another step along the line to full integration of the low cost and charter fleets?
In the old days didn't the Britannia fleet offer seat-only deals on some of its flights? Is this another re-invention of the wheel?

I think Thomsonfly is the new name for both what was the original Thomsonfly and the old Britannia who will operate leisure flights (to give them another name) which will be available to seat only or package holiday customers. As you say it's confusing as they launched Thomsonfly as the low cost carrier and are now rolling it out across the whole fleet. Alternatively maybe they need to come up with a new name entirely!!
