Air-Scotland/ Greece Airways
The sooner this scruffy little outfit disapears the better ... what an insult
As a newcomer to the world of airline forums (gossip lines) I must say that the bad feeling towards the company which I not only work for but also enjoy working for utterly sickens me.
Lets be honest guys and girls we're not doing anyone any harm.
Yes, we're the first ones to admit we have our share of delays, however doesnt everyone.
When the sh*t hits the fan with other airlines U.K wide, we have also been known to pick up their pax and get them to destination.
However, in conclusion, Ihave decided not to take to much of Mr "Meeb's" comments as, well let's face it, for someone who clearly knows so much about airlines and aircraft he cant even spell disappears.

To a certain extent I do agree with air_scotia, but why do they only have 1 plane? What happens to pax if that one plane goes tech?
Also what happened to the ex-TSC Tristars they wanted to operate to JFK?

I certainly do not wish Air Scotland would go bust, but I have to say I am very skeptical about the airline. Irrespective of delays and whether or not they are excessive, there seems to be no real clear view about what the future holds - We've heard constant claims from Air Scotland about expansion plans one way or another - whether it be SAM-dodging flights to Baghdad, tristars to the US/Canada/Cuba, or more flights to european cities. Most of it seems to be hot air as none of it ever seems to come off. I'm afraid this is going to make people question the airline, whatever the truth of the matter.
What do Air Scotland plan to do with this 767 that is apprently on it's way? Is it planned to continue with patchy med schedules?, Will it operate flights to CDG, ATH etc (maybe a bit big?), or are we to see a ressurection of long-haul plans with more sensible aircraft than clapped-out tristars?
Tbh, I feel Air Scotland's best bet would be to get a couple of 737s and operate to fewer European destinations (focus perhaps on CDG and ATH, plus one or two others) at a higher frequency.

I believe they need 737/A320 sized aircraft and a couple of them if they want to continue for long and stay out of bankrupsy
in all seriousness 767 is too big for AMS and CHG services from Scotland, unless they are looking to take it over the pond
GLA - AMS/ATH - GLA - EWR/JFK - GLA could be the ticket if they could operate neat in and out's from Glasgow in an hour or under.

Just noticed this thread and would like to add a comment(or 2)I am aware of AS but never used them and have also heard of the "proposed"expansion but if they intend to start a service with a 767 just where would They go?they cannot just start doing ETOP flights as to get this certification then They have to have history of at least being capable of such flts it is not as simple as having an ETOP qualified aircraft and off You go I strongly hope They do well but it really should be a slowly slowy approach to ETOPs qualification.

The Air Scotland website now says to look out for new routes/destinations which are apprently planned for the new year. Any ideas what they may be and the direction the new owners plan to take the airline - New/different aircraft for instance?
