EGBB - Development plans

With all the argy bargy about "planning" and "consultation" over as we know, EGBB got permission for a runway extension and a second runway. Before all this of course, they had for years been buying up properties and land S.E of the threshold of 33 so everybody expected that they would first extend this runway to reduce the weight limitation on 747's using it before building their second shorter parallel runway in about 20 years or so.
Now they have adopted a policy of selling off this land so what of their plans has changed? Has the second parallel runway project been brought forward?

Any info out there?

Might help those you don't know their ICAO airport codes for you to give its name - ie Birmingham International.

Also could this not be incorporated into the Airport Masterplans thread?

Thanks for your comments Brabazon. Many people use either three or four letter (ICAO) codes on this website (some of which I cannot decode from memory) so I thought that I would not be any different. There is no reference to Birmingham International on the airports masterplans thread, however if our respected moderator considers that this would be better placed there, I have no objection whatsoever to it being moved as you suggest.
