Aurigny Ok?

Is Aurigny Airways back on track now? As I remember it wasn't a long time ago they were announcing major cut backs and several aircraft to be removed from the fleet and destinations cut.

I wondered if it's all going ok now, as I haven't noticed any destinations being removed from the schedule!

Mr Wilding

Aurigny is working hard having learnt the financila lessons lessons from the rather silly compete with everyone policy of a year or so ago.

They have dropped many of the Jersey UK services and are concentrating on the inter island and UK services from Guernsey.

Recent adverse passenger experiences with FlyBe appear to have resulted in Aurigny picking up business from their competitor on the GCI Gatwick route.

The recovery is steady and the signs are promising. The ATR and its crews do a great job for the company.

I have no connection with Aurigny other than using it as a first choice airline from Guensey to Gatwick.

Talking Aurigny's Aircraft

They might be gaining passenger figures, however there customer service skills are a little rusty, not too mention their trislanders. Rumour from some of their own ground crew is that half the trislander fleet is held together by gaffa tape! Surely that can't be right!!??

I'd probably fly RockHopper any day!!

As an ordinary Joe Passenger I can only say that both my wife and I have found Aurigny to be a super little airline.

We have only flown two BRS-GCI return trips it is true, one in summer 2004 and one last May, but the aircraft (ATR 72s) and the on board service were fine.

Punctuality was excellent except for the return from GCI in 2004 when the ubiquitous Guernsey fog earlier in the day had thrown everyone's schedule into chaos. However, we managed to get back to BRS only about three hours late and the check-in member of staff was helpful and answered our questions courteously as best she could when we returned (more than once, patience is not one of my virtues) for an update.

I have flown numerous occaisions down to GCI

no probs at all with them 1st class service every time better than the last operator who used to operate GCI from BRS
ATR 72 a bit rusty ASCIL
Also have done a fair bit of Island hopping over the years on their BN3\'s also on the DH-6 & BN2 in the 1970\'s I have never had any conerns about their service at all, & not just saying that because I work at BRS.

Aurigny OK?

Don't forget that Aurigny is owned by the States of Guernsey. It would not do Guernsey's image any good if they allowed their own airline to run into severe difficulty.

Aurigny ok

aurigny are back on track now they have customer services each of the trislanders are gettin new interiors and paint schemes. there is nothing wrong with the aircraft. if you want to compare to rockhopper ascil then look at the saftey records! aurigny have had one incident in the past 10 years and rockhopper seem to have had alot more things like brake fires, windows falling out tyres popping.

aurigny has got its reputation back to be a little friendly airline. money has been invested in the airline to give a better service to its passengers.
aurignys puntuality record is outstanding upon last year and is continuing to impress. they are a friendly little airline who care for its passengers.

there maybe tape on the aircraft but it would effect the aircrafts abillitys as it would be against the caa regulations to operate unsafe aircraft.

Is Aurigny o.k.

Is Aurigny O.K. ?????

We all need to look forward Rockhopper had there new addition to the fleet pop into Guernsey to day .

Iknow you Aurginy fans would have liked to have seen this new addition in Jersey but it went into Guernsey instead

. The aircraft arrived over the pond the night before and night stopped in Prestwick and came down to Guernsey for import i believe into the U.K.

The person who gave these stats on safety needs to understand more on aviation safety issues.

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no old bold pilots (quote).

So end the lesson

cptcoxie, you seem to have a short memory with regard to safety records, I can think of two serious incidents, the beach landing and the each of the prop entering the passenger cabin. As for the smaller ones then these affect all airlines.

Aurigny has lost it's friendly status and this probably stems from the helm, passenger service is not their number one priorty or does not appear to be from this side of the fence. Short notice amalgamation or cancellation of flights where staff claim passenger were called however no-one on the flight was notified.

I was unfortunate to have to travel with Aurigny (GCI/JER) on the weekend of the storms in early December, we were lead out in Guernsey and held in the rain while the staff got organised whereas the Rockhopper passengers were coached.

Unless Aurigny get their passenger service back on track they will continue to lose passengers on their core routes.

Trislander tango oscar returns home

Trislander GBDTO returned home to GUERNSEY this afternoon.

The aircraft arrived from East Midlands where it hes been resprayed.

The aircraft is in similar markings as the ATR72 GBXTN with the big puffin on its tail.

On the way into Guernsey the aircraft flew over Alderney to give them a look at the new colours.

It be a day or two before the aircraft will be back on line,

Devil Aurigny Trislanders

I once heard a few years back that Aurigny used to keep a trislander in maintenance because they did not have a sufficent number of trislander engines for the amount of aircraft they had. So they constantly had an unservicable aircraft. Can anyone else back this up??
