These details have been on the Freedom Flights and Excel websites since around the 16 June and have been mentioned in both the Bristol and Humberside airports threads on this forum (Humberside is also getting a programme for the first time next summer and Bristol is apparently having a slight reduction in flights next summer compared to this).

I note that CWL is to get a B 738. This side of the Severn we have to put up with a B 734 (still in Islandsflug livery) whose timekeeping can be a bit variable. The other based Freedom Flights unit is an Air Malta 320 that seems more reliable in keeping to schedule, and is to stay for the winter.

With other inclusive tour/charter airlines seemingly cutting back on traditional summer sun breaks across the board (and instead looking further afield to more 'exotic' destinations) it is fascinating to see Excel/Freedom Flights expanding their programme around the country. Good luck to them.

Back to CWL, there is another thread on this MB titled 'League Table' in which someone expressed surprise that CWL's annual pax totals are not higher. I posted to that thread last night pointing out that with next summer's new Excel/Freedom Flights programme and the expanded Tui and Zoom programmes, amongst other things, the pax totals for 2006 will be significantly higher. They ought to pass the 2 million barrier and beyond.

And there are still rumours of other things, incl Ryanair.

We have been told to expect quite a few changes for next year, the introduction of Excel and the additional Long haul flights can only be good news for us.
I understand there is still potentially quite a lot more to be announced.

Good thing we are implementing all these improvements and changes now Turn It Off, next summer with Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff's predicted increase in traffic movements we could well be in for a fun time

TBI (under new 'dynamic' Spanish control) own both Cardiff and Luton.

One wonders why TBI don't engage in co-operative marketing/selling, and offer a decent combined deal.

Excel currently operate from Essex Rural, and could surely be convinced of the incomparable catchment area benefits of Luton?

The same applies to bmiBaby......
