Is it possible for a J41 to overrun 06R? Even with no breaking methods I'm sure it would stop b4 the end!

Was working at the airport and heard the word "accident" used on the radio. Fire, police and usual mop up crew in attendence.

06R closed and single runway ops initiated.

No news on the damage to the aircraft or injuries but the word is that this was the Meatloaf charter aircraft and that he was on board. (From a reliable source)

Nil further

From the BBC page:

The Eastern Airways jet

--------------------------------------

Hmmm, since when did a Jetstream have jet engines?

KLM1087 which diverted to Birmingham has since positioned out to Manchester

To be fair, not all journos are spotters. If they call up and are told it was a jetstream then it's a fair assumption to make.

Mind you, they are gas turbines. And that's essentially a jet engine, isn't it?

Well, even if the BBC got the propulsion system wrong, they had the airline and the airport right, and two out of three ain't bad

Well, it looks like that aircraft is going 'Nowhere Fast'. Rumour is the crew weren't paying attention and have been 'Getting Away With Murder'. Luckily for the captain the F/O is very loyal, even exclaiming 'I'd Lie For You'. The passengers however weren't quite so chuffed and several were heard complaining 'Life Is A Lemon And I Want My Money Back'.

Thanks to Google, I reckon that's the end of this thread!

Allegedly the captain,a Capt Love, was threatening some illegal manouevre after landing.

His hitherto obedient 1st officer snapped, took over the controls & deliberately skidded off the runway.

He was quoted as saying:

"I'll do anything for Love,but I won't do that."

The End,except to say I hope neither of the pilots ARE called Love...

I'd rather the Captain trained pilots than records....or am I missing "something" ?

Angel

That is indeed a trifle ambivalent.
It might suggest that bat.man had had access to the training records of the two (?) Captains who were on the flight.
The inference might be that these records were not so hot.

Several hours later, one of the passengers returned to the airport as he discovered he had lost a pirce of hand luggage.

Thankfully, airport lost property was still open, into the small hours.

So there he was...
