Now that post really should win the award for
Do try to keep up ....? We have 7 pages in this thread,
notable only for the bragging/boasting/swaggering.?
Why is it that folk who disagree with the boasters/braggers/swaggerers are immediately 'set'
upon.?
What's wrong with a bit of healthy heckling.?

Regardless of 'whose' website it is, it is misleading. It seems to conveniently forget to add in Frankfurt, Brussels, Nice, Paris, Galway, Madrid, Geneva, and Prague which would all be in Edinburgh's favour. Plus Dusseldorf and Munich which would be in Glasgows favour (assuming the statistically challenged person is using the 2004 figures). None of these figures are necessarily anything to do with profitiability or passenger preference.
Bottom line is that 99% of posters are tired of the EDI/GLA willy waving. Especially on threads which are nothing to do with competition between the two, but are rumours or news about a single one of them.
Therefore those who wish to indulge in such, and deviate from a thread topic, may find access restricted in the future, as well as having their irrelevant posts being removed.

**Frankfurt, Brussels, Nice, Paris, Galway, Madrid, Geneva, and Prague **
Could because GLA dones not have flights to FRA, BRU, CDG, MAD? Does EDI have flights to Galway. I think GLA has more pax on to PRG than EDI does with EDI at 10 weekly CSA and GLA 7 weekly GSM and 10 weekly CSA. Nice is there and GLA has more pox on it than EDI. GLA only just got flights to Paris so im guesing that is why its not there.

Hmm these figures based taken from the CAA seem to prove Joe wrong, very very wrong.

Errr......no. You've got that completely the wrong way around, I'm afraid.
It's the tour operators who charter the airliners in the first place who decide where they go.
Something to do with who pays the piper calling the tune, I understand.

The site you posted has a non attributable date and the figures don't stack up, as well as being economic with the truth as noted by various posters.
Anyone who wants to judge for themselves, based on the official facts, can use the CAA data. Published data for 2005 only covers January so far so has not reached a critical mass for worthy comparison yet, hence the link to the full 2004 report.

In a report in todays Scotland on Sunday under the title "Glasgow back in runway race" they are reporting that BAA are to ask the govt to reconsider their decision to have the next runway in Scotland built at EDI. They feel , like Virgin Airlines, that Glasgow will require the runway and the major expansion first. ABTA are also to lobby for Glasgow to be expanded before Edinburgh!

"**"Not my website"
Yeah right.***
Go on then prove it."
You freely advertised the fact that you had set it up when you first launched it. Despite all your pseudonames, youre easily traced. IP addresses are wonderful things
Why on earth would you would deny it was yours is another story.
No further silly squabbling please, its very tiresome.
