This thread has become an embarrasment. Why can't we discuss airports on here without it becoming the usual my airports better then yours argument.
We should be thankful that we have some fine airports which airlines are now using to the benefit of pasengers and the Scottish economy.

Well done GoEdi, nice post, 10 random flights picked " at random" by, erm , you ! BTW Even if it is only four out of ten that are full at the front, it's four more than EDI will ever have!

Yes, good call Runway 31.
Come on, guys, let's keep it cool!
EK-LHR: from an "EDI punter", I can categorically assure you that the majority of us do not get upset about the EK service at GLA. In fact I'd say we have a vested interest in its success. If GLA-DXB does not succeed then there is no chance of EDI-DXB ever happening, so I don't think it's in anyone's interest here in Edinburgh to take a negative view ...
... so please give it up, GoEDI!!! Thanks.

The simple (or so it should have been) point I have tried to make is that it is cargo figures not passenger figures that are the more important factor in the upgrade. Not such a bad thing considering freight is just as if not more lucrative than passenger numbers?!

There are regular 747 flights from GLA to SFB during the summer
Shouldn't that be SCOTLAND? I doubt
folk using these services have any choice
of airports.?
The same 747s used to leave/arrive EDI - very, very loaded - but mysteriously disappeared for no logical reason. Political?
I have to laugh when I read these bragging/boasting GLA threads, do the
'devotee's actually believe the pax come from the local catchment area.?
Would GLA be so popular if other Scottish airports were competing.?
The fact that GLA is quite often out-performed on routes available from other Scottish airports tells a quite different story.

Yeah, its becoming very tiring.
The green eyed monster is rears its ugly head in another familiar post.
Stick to the topic. Nothing to do with EDI ( which is what is being alluded to in that rant) and no mention of Scotland as a whole, the post is about Virgin thinking about GLA.
And yes thats where the biggest most lucrative catchment area is for such routes as VS would likely operate.

And that site is not biased.... give us a break!
All this weegie versus edinburgh stuff is tedious guys... and rather childish...
If Virgin want to make Glasgow a hub, then great... lets all support it... but please, do not post links to drivel websites...
