SAA in court

Hi, I was recently in CPT and chatted with an SAA Engineer who was fearing for his job because of SAA being in court. He said that SAA was up for bribing Travel Agents to sell SAA tickets ahead of other airlines and was in serious trouble. Can anyone though some light on the subject please?

Mode7, ah oui these are quite serious charges. SAA have the reason to be worried. If they are found guilty of bribing Travel Agents to sell SAA tickets ahead of other airlines then they will be found 'derelict of duty' for what is their gross slowness in marketing because all other airline has been doing this since ticket selling got invented.

But I do not see how the Engineer could be worried, because it is only marketing that is the problem.

The SAA Engineering was always most highly regarded. (apart from when Monsieur Coleman and his accountants sold off the spare parts) (or when the new-managers got rid of the engineers) (or when someone brought the fake spares very cheaply - alors I meant expensive spares from supplier located elsewhere) (and please noone to mention the forex loss gambling) (and the free seats for the bigwigs is a problem - alors I meant first class for the distinguished people who fly first class and their wife and their mistress)
