Ex ,it was not couched as fact & was directed at one named individual. I distinctly remember proffering an apology & also the reasoning behind the post ,you pointedly ignored both!
I sha'nt up the ante in the 'Er' stakes as you obviously have complete mastery of this useful life skill

I suggest that those engaged in sniping, offensive remarks and abuse get a hold of themselves because this kind of conduct will not be tolerated.

Threads have the express purpose of sourcing news and worthwhile information. They are NOT for those who just want to have a slanging match or worse, attack other people as some of you are doing. Innuendo is also included.

Either the thread gets back on track or it will be closed.

Jet2 voted 3rd best airline for service by Holiday Which!

1st Singapore Airlines
2nd Palmair (BOH based)
3rd Jet2

OTHER bigger airlines may claim to be the world's favourite and take more care of you, but Bournemouth-based Palmair really is and does.

Despite being knocked off its number one perch by Singapore Airlines, the Palmair subsidiary of the Bath Travel empire is still flying high in the annual passenger poll conducted by Holiday Which?

With just two aircraft taking around 70,000 passengers a year to a dozen destinations from the Canaries to Corfu, Palmair was voted second favourite in the Consumer Association's bi-annual airline satisfaction survey.

And with Jet2, the budget airline arm of Channel Express, which will be launching a Belfast service from Hurn later this month, placed third in the poll, Bournemouth can claim two of the top three smoothest operators.

Nearly 20,000 passengers were canvassed for their thoughts on a range of comfort criteria from checking in to cabin cleanliness, in-flight service and meals.

The Holiday Which? report enthused: "Pocket dynamo Palmair continues to punch above its weight. Once up in the air, cabin crew on Singapore and Palmair were in a class of their own," added the report, which also found that only Air New Zealand gave more leg room to its passengers than Palmair.

Company chairman Peter Bath, whose personal meeting and greeting of passengers boarding at Bournemouth has long been a Palmair trademark, said the Holiday Which? results showed small was beautiful when it came to giving friendly service.

"Once you get to be number one you can't go any higher, but we are very pleased to get second," said Mr Bath.

Ian Doubtfire, managing director of Jet2 said: "We treat our passengers well, have smart cabin crew and leather interiors.

"We'll be flying on time every day with low fares when our Belfast service launches."

Albeit from a smaller sample, I see Jet2 have just been rated very highly by customers responding to this survey.

http://www.wanderlust.co.uk/survey/a...lowcostairline

With regard to the utilisation issues discussed earlier, the Jet2 timetable as it stands for S05 is actually still fairly tame. Assuming the Leeds base will stand at 9 a./c, it is argubaly less intensive than last year, perhaps with the exception of the summer school holidays when some exta frequncies kick in. In fact the Leeds schedule is so slack that I can spot sufficient gaps in the flying programme to allow 35 extra roundtrips a week to be slotted in (granted there wouldn't be much backup, but there'd be some). Belfast has 2 units doing just 3 daily roundtrips + mail. MAN is a bit busier but an average of 15 daily departures from 7 based a/c is still someway off what EZY would be striving to achieve from a similar sized based. On top of all this, the latest Official Record Series publication shows that 3 additional Islandflug 737s (300 QCs) will be joining Channex over the full summer season + an MD-82 until 1st July.

I don't know if the leased QCs are for mail or sub-contract work, but if any of them are to be dedicated to the Jet2 operation and no extra frequencies are added, then I think you can dismiss altogether the idea that they'll be over-stretching themselves in terms of utilisation.

I think these might well be heading Flyglobespan's way.

SATISFIED CUSTOMER

With grandchildren near LGW my wife & I have regularly used BA (no alternative) flying from MAN to LGW over the last few years, so we are pleased that JET2 have provided competition.
We have had no complaints about BA but recently I gave JET2 a try & I was very pleased with all aspects of the flight/checkin etc, all staff were very helpful particularly as I was rather late getting to the checkin on both legs of the trip. With their help I made it to the gate on time.
The flights were rather empty but I think that this is because many people do not know that JET2 are on the MAN to LGW run, I only found out from surfing the web.
Furthermore their flight charges are significantly lower than BA even if you make a last minute booking.
So jet2 please advertise your presence in MANCHESTER some more & I am sure it will succeed

Get a life Absente reo

Dear Absente reo

Have no clue what your problem is with Jet2. They are the best operator I have flown with over the last year and a halve! Me thinks that 15+ flights between LBA and AMS should give me a good feel for the company from a SLF point of view!

Keep up the good work JET2!

Not sure which planet your living on but i have yet to meet anyone who would consider `chaos` and JET2 in the same post?

Most ofwhat you have said is just rubbish, most crews are happy with their lot and are getting paid exactly what they were offered at interview, ok it might be less tha easy? so what

The aircraft are a few years old but they are well looked after and are far more reliable than a Fokker!! again what is your point?

Manchester is very early days and is a very diffrent market than Leeds LGW/EDI might or might not work for us but the Summer booking are very good for the Med.

BOH may be a long way from Leeds but we do so much stuff over the net that it might as well be next door.

Just look at the number of crew jobs (cabin & flight deck) that we have created, let alone the very positive customer feed back and we have a good business.

As to delay and cancelations again rubbish ok so Leeds weather has caused problems this last week but its been bad in AMS and elsewhere, again so what it happens in winter.

If you must slag us off at least come up with some hard facts not this load of tripe

Cheers

Burt
