Indian Ops to UK

Quick question - my uncle suggests (working out in BOM) that Jet Airways has started international ops ... is this true, or is he just being fed BS?

I heard that they were going to start bom - lon flights on a A330 march of end of march

Was speaking to one of their reps in India late last month and they told me this was going to happen.

Only time will tell i suppose if this is going ahead.

India's Jet Airways has selected the Airbus A340 as it's long haul aircraft, with an initial three -300's expected to be sub-leased from South African Airways. Airbus sources say if the deal with SAA is completed this week as expected, the aircraft will be delivered to Jet in April and May. The A340's were to be delivered new to SAA later this quarter. Jet requires widebodies urgently after last month winning seven weekly frequencies to the UK. Air Sahara also won rights to fly to the UK and is close to signing a lease deal for three A310's from Singapore Airlines.

Thanks .... that's the info I was looking for.

Looks like the LHR-BOM market could be opening up.

Link works well with me and is a very clever routing ... makes good sense for the type of market.

Also, I too would happily fly jet: excellent service, superb staff and meal ... plus a drink in economy (non-alcoholic of course) before you take off.
