BA using Tristars Again
Looks like BA are really scraping the barrel now.
They are using an Euro Atlantic L1011 CS TEB for the NBO service tonight.
rumours are that they might have it for 2 weeks !!!

A colleague who serviced it last night prior to departure stated that the a/c was in excellant condition with more equipment working than on some of our own a/c. This company enjoys a good reputation, hence BA's decision to use them, complete with real blond scandic cabin crew.

Delays...
Just for info, in case anyone's interested, taken from SIS for today, Friday 11 February:
BA088 NBO - LHR
CS-TEB L1011 Tristar
STA: 16:20
ETA: 20:09
Although I can't say I know the nature of the delay...

Darkstar; It shows how little your knowledge of BA is. It may indeed cost to hire but comparing BA wages to the hired in a/c we are probably earning more than if it was a BA a/c. Perhaps BA should have looked at a/c under the 3C & 9L, proper bargain stuff.

Air Luxor A330 and EuroAtlantic 767 being used lots too. Spoken to one guy who used it and was very very disatisified with the flights, seems only the spotters are taking a liking to them all.
Anyone know where the problem actualy lies, as its certainly doing no favours to BA?

Well, what should BA do in your opinion: to cancel the flight or what? If it is a charter airline who face equipment shortage then no problem to subcharter anyone else, because most of the charter aircraft are similar in terms of config.
However it is next to impossible to source a long haul aircraft in top airline config on a short notice. If you lucky then you will get some old 767 in 2 class config of 80s origin (so you would have claims anyway). Stop dreaming on subchartering 3-class aircraft with modern cabin equipment. They exist only at major airlines and used for their own operations (surprise?).

Any chance that HZ123 could explain the information:
To the best of my knowledge Euro Atlantic Airways is a Portuguese airline based on the sunny Portuguese island of Madeira. Most Scandinavians there are tourists. Do Euro Atlantic use Scandinavians for any particular reason or was this an error?
