Kathmandu Airport
Can anyone advise whether Kathmandu Airport is operating following King Gyanendra's dismissal of the government?
My daughter was to fly Kathmandu-Mumbai yesterday but we are yet to hear from her

GF operating daily from AUH (turns instead of RON) not sure about other companies. Other than that wouldn't want to guess what the in-country situation might be...are you sure you'd let her go right now?

Thank you for your replies, perhaps she got to Mumbai afterall.
Lefty...she's travelling back to NZ from the UK with her fiancee, unfortunately I had no input into their travel plans....

And, to be fair, (i) there is very little impact from any Maoist actions on tourists - they know where their funding comes from (although that may be different with the change in govt), and (ii) KTM is about the safest place to be in Nepal! No Nepali is allowed to go in there unless they have a ticket or are a tour operator, taxi driver etc. Sizeable military presence.
