New route - Virgin to Beijing

From the Virgin website:
Virgin Atlantic is delighted to announce that it will increase its Heathrow Shanghai services from five weekly to daily starting on 30 October 2005 and plans to start a daily Beijing service as soon as possible.

Translation: you stomp on our turf, we'll stomp on yours.

Was there a time limit for exclusivity in the UK/China bilateral (presumably it expires this year?) Also, are other cities - such as Guangzhou - being considered.

Presumably, also, any increase in flights by British airlines to China will result in Chinese airlines getting increased rights at LHR.
