BA Ops in Las Vegas

A quick question - was looking through BA flights today on their Arrivals/Depts page with regards the snow in NE USA. When there noticed they seem to have quite a few flights going to/from Las Vegas (LAS) to BOS/JFK/LAX.

This isn't a scheduled route, and so was wondering what the aircraft are doing there ... any ideas?

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.

My sister in law is booked on the BA flight to Las Vegas. It appears to route to LAX on the way out from EGGW then stops at Vegas on the flight back to the UK. She seems to think it's the same aircraft to LAX then to Vegas.

Talking

Magbreak.
Oh goody, goody, BA longhaul from my local Airport.
I think you meant EGGL (Heathrow) and not EGGW (Luton).

BA do not fly to Las Vegas - any tickets sold are on the basis of travelling the last sector on a code share partner airline.

Requests for flights to Vegas come up fairly often within BA but the beancounters have determined there isn't enough premium traffic to justify it.

I bet if they priced it right, say along the lines of the £1250 deals in J to MCO/TPA that are around at the moment, they would get the premium traffic, especially if they used the NCW, WT+. WT config 777's.

I've been in J class in and out of TPA and that is often low load, I have wondered if BA would drop off the route, but it's stayed in the schedules.

Assoicated to my earlier post with regards the BA Arr/Dept feature, could someone tell me why there is a flight listed BOM (Bombay) to STN in addition to the flight to LHR. BA don't do a cargo only flight there or some other one do they?

Ah, well spotted Mr @ spotty M. I did mean EGLL (finger trouble on my part!).

Having spoken again with my sister in law it would appear the flight is actually BA into LAX then she said American Airlines to Veags. Not sure if they are code share with BA so she may have the wrong name.

Code-share flights from LAX to Vegas are by America West.
