I think the BACx BRS-JER has been reduced to Sats only this coming summer from daily last summer, and from Mon/Wed/Fr/weekends at present.
Last summer BRS-JER had four airlines on the route daily (although Air Southwest flew via PLH and didn't operate at weekends).
Summer 2005 will see only Air Southwest operating Mon to Fri, plus Sat out and Sun back, and via PLH each time. Flybe will operate Mon/Wed/Fri, and Sats later in the summer. Presumably Aurigny will not return to the route, having regard to their troubles.
From one extreme to another on this route it would seem.

Does anyone know if BACX are planning any new routes from SOU?. It seems a strange that SOU has gone from being one of their most profitable stations to the point where they are now as a bit part player at the station. It is a shame that FLYBE have given a bit of competition and BACX have just capitulated out of SOU.

I have been checking flights from BRS to the Channel Islands for my son whose area (non aviation job) now includes Jersey and Guernsey.
The BA website booking engine is only showing Saturday flights for dates in April that I tried. When I tried weekday flights it came up with an unavailable-type message.
If this is merely a glitch in their booking system I hope they sort it out quickly because my enquiry is not just an academic one.

Amadeus is only showing flights on days 6 and 7.....might be worth checking in a few days as im not sure if the Summer 2005 timetable has been cfmd yet due to the schedule changes.
Liquid Sunshine.........As far as SOU goes - the BRU route got dropped due to the loads and VLM quickly snapped it up with a Fokker 50 which leaves 2 145s and 1 DH8. I believe the DH8 will be replaced in due course with another 145. Im hoping BACX try and give FLYBE a run for their money rather than giving up....

Does anyone know what the future holds for BHD/MAN/BHD - this is the last BA/BACX route serving N Ireland - other threads have mentioned Flybe slots applied for at MAN for BHD route - if D8s are going this year, will 145s replace them or are they more likely to drop the route rather than compete against Flybe?

Since its ill conceived conception BACX has a glorious history of rolling over and giving up at the first sign of competition. No, that is wrong. BACX managers, conceived and and born from the BA dinosaur egg, and who have never had to actually go out and make money as businessmen, do not know how to compete in the free, open market. There isn't an OMAN, FAB or FOB on the subject so they are lost.
As with most BA press releases (a bit like Gordon Brown's budget statements) only the glossy bits are announced. Hidden elsewhere are route frequency cuts and more aircraft/ fleet changes. The disruption continues. And all this is predating a much-hyped and expected business plan Number 32899 next month.
As far as MAN-BHD is concerned BACX has tried everything in its declining armory; don't hold your breath.

BRS/JER/BRS Summer 2005
Dash-7 lover & MerchantVenturer - I can confirm for you both as i'm sure you now know, BACX have reduced the flts from M/W/F/Sa/Su to Sa. What i can't get over is that on a Sa there are 2 and the stupid thing is they are about 1hr apart from each other...?

Flybe are tacking on more than they can handle as there aircraft go tech alot and they do not have any back up aircraft.
the need to stop expanding and work on what the have got at the moment.
Aurigny operate a daily service between BRS and GCI the also operate between the islands from GCI
