Runwayedge. I will have another go at RE now. As we speak my wife is sitting at Dublin Airport for the last 4 hours to pick up her friend who is trying to fly up with RE from Kerry to Dublin. The lady from Kerry is going for Cancer treatment in a Dublin hospital tomorrow and this is the fourth time in three months that she has had cancelled or delayed flights with RE. The flight has just left Kerry over threee hours late.

The flight down from Dublin at 5.30 was cancelled as two aircraft went tech. On and on and on the problems over and over again with RE flights. So it is personal experience - not some mystery conspiracy against RE. Then I read this spin today in the Irish Times from Kerry Airport and RE saying that everything is fine. Kerry must be eating their words tonight. And RE get more than 4 Million just for Kerry flights from the Irish taxpayers subsidy annually for this dreadful pathetic service.

As for NOC - well done to them. They have grabbed regional UK services than SNN would die for. Those same services are and will continue to weaken the market at GWY also. Reality in a tough airline world.

If you do work for RE runwayedge or you know someone who does - please ask them to get their act together. Hey I even missed the football on the box tonight because of RE!

And I bet your wife's friend was paying big money too for the privilege of being up to three hours late for her flight from Kerry to Dublin? My cousin came to Cork last week for a funeral. The fare was 120 euro. She wanted to change her return flight and fair enough if they want to charge for it but it came to another 20 to 25 euro! So, say, 140 euro for a DUB-ORK-DUB! I bet Ryanair, Easyjet, Aer Lingus etc would die for yield like that.

Rumour has it that My Travel Lite will cease to operate at the end of the summer. It has run it's time and the 'plug' is being pulled.

I stress this in no way relates to My Travel as an airline with it's charter flights, and is the 'Lite' operation only.

Can anyone confirm??

There you go again! Talking rubbbish. What services have Knock got to the UK that Shannon would die for? None, because they have the same services with more frequency. You have a go at GWY because it suits you to indirectly have an RE bash. My understanding is RE are doing exceptionally well out of there even with the loco competition North and South. Only the CAA stats will tell (that is evidence) something you fail to deliver on. Now, do you want to tell everybody how you can potentially gain by constantly bashing RE in this forum and others, or will someone else have to do it for you? Have a look at all your previous postings - it makes interesting reading.

Well - on Knock - and what SNN would love to the UK.

Knock has BMIbaby to BHX and MAN. BABY operates 131 seat 737-300's and 150 seats 737-500's. SNN would love BABY.

A very tasty 737 daily NOC to BHX with generally 130 seats +. I guess that is better for NOC airport than what SNN has with a FlyBe Q400 TuboProp with 70 seats . SNN wants BABY.

Knock has BMIBABY to MAN with again generally 130 seats+ while SNN has BA Citiexpress to MAN with a turboprop 50 seats DASH 8 service.

The frequency is the same at both NOC and SNN to MAN and BHX. I think most agree that MAN and BHX are the most important UK routes after London.

Baby actually pay to land at airports rather than Ryanair who will get paid by SNN.

If Shannon wants jet service to BHX why not keep flybe sweet and chase one of the new 737s or 319s they will have soon?

Remember flybe is closer to being a full service carrier (it codeshares with CO for instance) than baby and seems to be making decent money with the Q400s. Baby has a very uncertain future depending on the parent's next moves and flies 2nd hand 735s and 733s.

I actually doubt the validity of your claim neidin.

Thinking logically, there are far more seats available from Shannon to the Manchester and Birmingham areas than from Knock. I would Include LPL in the MAN catchment area, and EMA in the Birmingham catchment area. This results in the following:

Manchester/Liverpool area to Knock 196 seats each way/day
Manchester/Liverpool area to Shannon 239 seats each way/day

Birmingham/East Mids area to Knock 148 seats each way/day
Birmingham/East Mids area to Shannon 267 seats each way/day

Why would SNN 'love' bmibaby as you say when it already has a far bigger commitment from FR than NOC will ever have from baby??

SNN has more choice too, BA on the MAN route gives pax the option of a full fares carrier, and Flybe to BHX is somewhere between the two. NOC has only Lo-co to offer.

FR at SNN will do far more for the local economy than baby will do at NOC.

Regards

Mike

Oh one more thing, the 737-500 has 130 seats, and the -300, 148.

Regards

Mike

Quote "Baby actually pay to land at airports"

Certainly at BFS, Baby pay very little to operate there - one of the reasons they chose to go to BFS rather than BHD was rumoured to be that they couldn't secure the same deal at BHD as mainline.

I discount your theory Knock versus SNN. Next, I do not work for RE but I am well informed that they have not suffered since the launch of the loco battle North and South at GWY in fact their loads and yield are far ahead of last year's. My point still remains why take totally unsubstantiated swipes at any airport in Ireland that is not Dub and at RE. They have their problems I will agree but hopefully they will be ironed out. You are no fool because sometimes you do actually make considered, well informed postings. However, you still have not addressed the critical issue, why don't you tell us what you have to gain from bashing RE, GWY, CRK, SNN. Is it connected I wonder with the upcoming PSO tender process which gets up your nose because RE are the incumbent. I wonder! Which airline will you be rooting for?
