Wouldn't mind seeing EZY at Leeds Bradford. I reckon there's room there for another loco, not necessarily to compete with Jet2 but rather to operate 'vacant' routes such as Bordeaux, Toulouse, Berlin, Frankfurt, Budapest, Turin, Lyon, Gerona, Rome etc. etc. LBA bosses would probably bite EZY's hand off, especially given the forthcoming apron extension. Not sure what Jet2's response would be. How times change for the regionals !
In the meantime, I've no doubt that the existing EZY bases will go from strength to strength with additional routes. The list of destinations from Newcastle and Belfast appears particularly impressive. I hope they do well.

Hi there!!!!
I have worked at Murcia Airport for three years and since winter 2003 EZY have been requesting slots to operate into the airport from different airports in the UK, I have always thought they´ve thought of MJV as an emergency alternative to ALC in case their plans for Alicante fails, but since the moment they made a public announcement including MJV into their network, I thought they had taken the idea more seriously, apart from the fact that they still keep a daily slot to operate a LGW-MJV.
Personally I do believe MJV has become more than an alternative to ALC and it is already high time the airlines who were still not interested in MJV stop playing with us and ocuppying slots other airlines would like to use, who have a much bigger interest in MJV.
I do hope EZY rethinks the idea and start flying as demand is high enough at peak times to fullfil the BA daily flight and the EZY one.

How about EZY from BFS to:
Berlin(Brandenburg,Schoenfeld)
Geneve
Inverness
Palma de Majorca
Roma(Ciampino)
Or did you all forget about Easyjets expansion at Northern Irelands premier airport,or were the people from the Northen Ireland department for regional development too busy celebrating Flybe,s big sucess of a route from Norwich to Belfast City or their Aberdeen to Belfast City service, which is already served from BFS.However Eastern Airlines have too many contracts from BFS that FLYBE cant detract them and will only get cheap leisure pax.

The contents of your posts become even more unbelievable every time! Are you seriously suggesting that Eastern have a pup's chance of competing with Flybe on ABZ. On fares alone, did a quick check for May - Eastern return - £187.90 incl taxes, Flybe - £49.45 incl taxes, around 25% of Eastern's fare.
Do you honestly think that anyone would be mug enough to entertain Eastern with such a massive difference. Add to that a substantially larger and newer aircraft (Q400) and the undoubted convenience of BHD and its really no contest - expect to see Eastern disappear from BFS very shortly!
As far as Norwich is concerned, such has been the response that Flybe have brought forward the start date from 27 March to 10 February!
Oh and Easy to Inverness - give that about six months!

BHD has a far more convenient location for the largest population centres in NI, as well as the superior terminal facilities (size isn't everything). BFS is destined to do very well in the next year or two, but only by building on a core of leisure traffic (including CO to JFK) on LCCs and by turning the whole terminal into a shopping mall (and don't even get me started about that life size photo of Mr and Mrs Rankin laughing at the mugs eating their overpriced tasteless cack in their airside café...)
Sorry about that, rant over.
