Air France lawsuit against Geneva low-cost terminal rejected by court

PARIS (AFX) - Groupe Air France's lawsuit against Geneva-Cointrin Airport's decision to build a cheaper, dedicated terminal for low-cost operators has been rejected by a Geneva court, Geneva International Airport said.

Air France can appeal against the decision until Jan 31, it added.

The airline lodged the lawsuit last August with the Geneva Administrative Court, arguing the terminal will give UK low-cost operator Easyjet PLC an unfair advantage.

Geneva Airport decided in early July to add a second no-frills terminal with lower fees than the principal terminal.

EasyJet, which has 25 pct of the airport's traffic and had threatened to abandon Geneva unless fees were lowered, as well as low-cost peer Virgin Express Holdings PLC have welcomed the plan.
