I have heard of instances where both Aviance and servisair do not tell crews of CTOTs that have been allocated sometimes for hours. The first the crew know about it is when they call for push and start as the slot expires.
Nice one! Its a disgrace the ground handling at Cardiff sometimes; from an outsider looking in it seems to be appauling, both aviance and servisair.
Although, people only remember the times when things go wrong.

We've given up on handlers telling us about slots, we check directly with ops (who are now at CWL).
Aviance are occasionally forgetful with regard to this, but Servisair never advised me once of a slot time. I was even once asked by one of their staff..'what's a slot?'

Guys ......
Aviance were served notice back in December....
The matter is currently being thrashed out by corporate legal begals from both sides ..
Understand it is driven by a clash of personalities .
So please take care what you post here as both Aviance and CWL legal teams have previously read and continue to read this site

DRJ.
As some people get confused - particularly media, this is a RUMOURS website.
Whilst the 'legal begals' are thrashing behind closed doors, we are also entitled to voice our opinions on this site - whether it be speculation or not.
If you look closely at most of it, its friendly banta.

Windsheer - how right you are. This is a rumour network, not a backstabbing network. It wouldn't surprising me if CWL wanted only one handling agent, but we should just wait and see what happens!!!!

What a suprise, servisair slagging off aviance, aviance slagging off servisair, change to script, aviance are better in some stations that servisair, servisair better than aviance in others.
Speedbird heavy, i would like to know also how aviance were awarded servisairs awards, do you know it as fact or are you just having a go at aviance for no good reason

It occurs to me that CWl is probably busy enough that under EU Competition laws they have to have 2 Handling Agents, one of whom muxt be independant of the airport operator.
I forget what the trigger numbers are that mean an airport has to offer choice, but I would think that CWL handles sufficient pax for this to apply. Of course this requirement could be met by one of the existing handlers plus the airports own company.

Every UK Airport should have (by EU Law) an Airport Users Comitteee (AUC), and meet at least once a year. This was put upon airports and is normally arranged via the AOC. One of the results of this was that no handling agent can be restricted from working at an airport.
Apologies if haven't got everything 100% correct but am sure some others will be abe to contribute .

I believe Aviance have only recently (the past few months) been awarded the KLM 5 star award. How this could have been inherited from Servisair I just dont know.
I think its just Speedbird_Heavy's way of trying to keep their head above water when lets face it - they are in the s**t at the mo'.
The point of this thread was to see whether CWL have the grounds to do what they are doing. Why servisair have to step in and call them rotten is a bit degrading against themselves! ! !
If you want my opinion I think CWL are going to have ago at handling themselves - similar to Exeter handling. I could be wrong though!
Its all a bit at the moment!
Cheers all

EXT handling, very very nice people, very helpful, but blinkin slow, they tend to come up ask if your ready for pax, you say 5mins, and the pax aren't even at the gate 15 mins later!! bless em though, espiecially the knee high boot wearers phwoarrr!
I have only worked with Aviance at CWL once but found them to be professional and curtious, shame to see em go, maybe they could try and get in at BRS as it continues to grow and theres gota be room for a 2nd handler soon, especially with 16 new check-in desks on the way??!!

If there selling off the money losing stations, LPL will probably be one of the first to go.
They had to ask Aviance to do all their pushbacks 'cos they had no drivers available, great rostering by someone

Just to let you all know:
SpeedBird Heavy is no longer an employee of Servisair and hasn't been for a good few months (possibly close on a year) so I ask that you disregard all of his comments as they are purely personal and do not reflect that of the REAL staff at Cardiff. I can assure you all that Servisair staff at Cardiff are sympathetic of Aviance's situation and we wish their staff all the best.
