Scot Airways LCY

I understand Scot Airways are recruiting for CC out of LCY. Can anybody advise as to what the pay, rosters and the company is like? Thanks.

I knew someone that worked for this airline a while ago, and hated it, said it was the worst airline in the world. Pay is bad about 14000 a year, no flight pay, either work early or lates, early starts at about 6.30am with airport standby after for about 4 hours, then lates at 2.00 until about 8.30, only 6 crew at lcy, very very very young and inexperienced base stewardess and line trainer, line trainer 6 months experience, no other flying, about 20 years old, base manager not much better. She was glad to get out to a proper airline. Managed out of cambridge where you do your training in a b and b, not bad, nasty uniform, very small aircraft with a biscuit service!!!!!!! Keep loosing crew, abiut 3 have gone recently, and remember, only a base of 6.

If you have flown before you would hate it, old fashioned, no standards, and what the management say, goes. As for first timers, try a big player, with ok pay, some routes worth seeing and some perks. Not these guys, bearly just an airline that makes no money as far as she is concerned, and I trust her judgement greatly. Others from her course have also all left after paying off a long and expensive bond! Do airlines still do that????

Be warned

Thanks for your reply. I was interested in Scot Airways as I live 5 minutes from LCY, and thought it would be ideal. I have 6 years experience with an airline at LGW and the journey is becoming a bit too much.
Anybody else out there with any experience of Scot Airways? Are the any other airlines with CC based at LCY?

I think British Airways (BACX) have CC based at LCY, all flights flown by BAe146 (Avro RJ100).

Possibly VLM aswell?

I'm pretty sure BACX flights are W patterns with BHX and MAN crew aren't they? I didn't think they had a crew base there.

VLM definately have crew based there. I think KLM cityhopper used to base crew there too, but maybe not anymore.

SCOT AIR

If you are already working for another airline I would caution you against joining them or at least think seriously beofre leaving your currrent job.
Most hosties seem to stay 6 months to a year max and then move on to better and bigger, mainly because the terms and conditons are really quite poor.
On a positive note i would describe being a hostie for SA as an ideal starter job to get airline experience and then move on.
I think they (SA management) recognise this for themselves and consequently are not too concerned about turnover of hosties or there working conditions. Its a shame because it could be so much better working for them then it actually is or was nice ie small bases, friendly crews etc but a very limited shelf life!
At the end of the day thought if its just down the road from you you may put up with the at best medicore treatment because it suits you. Apply and make you own mind up.

Hi there, as far as i know only SA have crew based at LCY, BACX is W pattern and VLM have no crew whatsoever based there, all VLM crew end up at home base at the end of shift, LCY is just the hub.
