The airline - which pioneered no-frills travel - expects to carry up to 300,000 passengers annually between the city and European destinations from 2006, up from around 120,000 at present.
Well when the 738 comes into effect on the DUB route, that takes the capacity there up to c170,000 and with the new Milan route that would account for the extra 130,000. Just more creative Ryanair advertising by the sounds of it.

The budget airline has said it has not ruled out more destinations from Newcastle Airport
"not ruled out" probably meaning "well, at some point in the future we might look at it again, but at the moment we'll just see how Milan works out"

She added that Ryanair has just started a new route to Latvia from Stansted
Why do the people of the North East care about a new route at Stansted?

That said, it would be nice to see some more Ryanair routes from NCL.

I read those two articles and a quick calculation shows that to boost traffic to 300,000 a year would mean 2 new routes at 70,000 pax each (or a third daily Dublin and 1 more route)

I think maybe Oslo (Torp), Gerona or maybe Hahn.

I think its standard attempt for free advertising!

Mind you reading between the lines I could see at least one extra route?
