Air France & Virgin & Qatar.

Air France, Virgin & Qatar delayed the delivery of the A380.
How many aircraft will be delayed ?

Its order backlog includes two A380s, which Qatar will receive in 2009. “We delayed the delivery of the A380s from 2007 to 2009 for the simple reason that the new Doha airport will not be ready until 2008,” said Al Baker

Air France will take delivery of its first Airbus A380 superjumbo jet roughly five months after originally planned, the French carrier confirmed on Friday.

British airline Virgin Atlantic said Monday it had delayed plans to start flying the new 555 seat Airbus A380 double-decker aircraft until late 2007, more than a year later than originally planned.

Not sure about Qatar or Air France but for Virgin it is par for the course.

Lots of publicity for whatever the initiative is then quietly delay or drop the proposal a while later.

Very cynical M.Mouse.

Perhaps it is the reported inability of airports to get their acts together and have facilities available on time that is the main issue here.

Well, please do correct me if I am wrong.

Didn't many carriers that originally signed on for the Concord also back out? I have seen a few liveries depicting past and present carriers that never had the Concord, ie. Braniff.

Again, sorry if I am wrong.

Regards,

M.

The words "nail," "hit" and "head" spring to mind.

Qatar is no surprise, the current airport can barely deal with existing traffic let alone A380s!

Silly me. When I read the OP I thought that this might have been either "rumour" or "news". Fortunately it's neither.
