Continental to Russia from next year

CO will be launching a daily nonstop from Newark to Moscow pending apparoval using a 767, becoming the second US airline to fly there, Delta being the other. Which other US carriers operated there? Pan Am I know of.

Air Canada also are planning to revive the route in the future.

Note that CO will be flying EWR-DME, unlike SU and DL who both flying JFK-SVO. What's more interesting is the fact that CO and DL are both SkyTeam member and SU joining SkyTeam shortly.

PanAm was serving SVO via FRA using European-based 727 on FRA-SVO route during old times and I think there was a direct service later.
