They aren't getting G-BYDA from MYT now. Shame G-TTMC has gone tech in the past few days. I flew on her back in April 2003 and I thought she was a nice aircraft, if a bit dated. I suppose G-SWJW has been doing more work than she is used to then.

Who told you that Scandic are getting the MYT DC10? Both Air Scandic and MyTravel seem to be saying that the deal has fallen through as the leasing company want to sell the aircraft now. If they're going to take DA they would have needed to start training cabin crew by now.

Munkeh, I would take care using any of the phrases of "train", "Air Scandic" and "cabin crew" in the same sentence. People might get the wrong idea.

Seriously though, I had also heard that the DC10 deal had fallen through.

If this is the case that Scandic have not got the MYT Dc10, then do they plan a replacement a/c, to commence the south african contract on behalf of Howaboutsouthafrica.com holidays?
If Not then, who is going to take the work on? does anyone have inside info on which airline?

There was another post on here talking about Scandics future HERE . In that thread it mentions 2 MD80s for the winter and MD11s next summer! All wet leased from Finnair.

As to South Africa. Scandic can't do it in MD80s, would imagine someone like Air Atlanta would be able to fill that void at short notice?
