Announced on RTE website that Continental will start Belfast - New York flights from May 2005

Well reported by RTE. Shame about the low-key reports on BBCNI.

Immediately the concerns are aired about Continental cannibalising Aer Lingus traffic. No SNN stopover here!

Slap it up 'em, I say. Aer lingus only ever made a half-hearted attempt to service the North and then only at a price.

Judging by the number of people from Norn Ireland I've met on Aer Lingus flights it'll be a great sucess. Hopefully the convenience will stimulate demand further!
