Air Canada to DSA? Great if it happens! What about a new york service? Anyone heard anything? Lets hope they can pull it off! Would be nice to see something different there other than the thompsonfly aircraft!

I thaught it was 25,000 i read in an article i think on the airport website! Do you think the airport are more interested in getting the major long-haul routes in and leaving the European services to the lo-cos and charter companies? I heard a rumour that another terminal is to be erected to cater for long-haul flights, any one heard any more? That way Peel would give the lo-cos what they want! A low cost terminal, like o'leary keeps going on about at Dublin! Even if thats not true its a great idea and one i think Peel are the most likely to pioneer due to their low-cost friendly approach! Would be great not to be forced to London or MAN when i want to go to NYC! Plus the added bonus of another spotting place in the region along with HUY!

Congratulations

32000 pax is quite a feat in its first month of operations, had a detour from work and have to say the place does look good.

As for international routes in 2006..........bring it on.........at last an airport on my door step offering something that most would have to go to Manchester / London for

This thread seems to have gone a bit quiet, any one heard anything yet?

Was down at the airport on sunday (I visit both huy and DSA in the same day) and the problem, as the spotter is concerned, is the lack of variety. I hope another airline comes in although i believe Easyjet is doubtful, Ryanair will probably make it a base in due course!

How are they geting on with scheduled long-haul? Would be great to see the likes of Continental and Emerites!

In its first full month (May) DSA had 66,300 passengers according to the CAA.

Busiest routes are Dublin (as it has two flights), Alicante, Palma and Malaga.

The scheduled long haul isn't expected until next year.

An announcement on the new tour operator is expected next week.

Can't see that being the case.
They are closing bases, not opening them.

It is expected they will use ThomsonFly/Britannia flights. They are already in the first edition of the Airtours brochure

just because they have closed some smaller bases as a airline doesnt mean that airtours etc stop selling holidays from there too. they just buy in from someone else.

I am just reporting speculation from the forum linked to by MrDearne on the top of this page and what was in the 1st edition Airtours brochure. Have plans changed or something?

The winter schedule is now available from TOM for DSA.

From what I can tell, DUB has been dropped in favour of AMS. The CDG service is switching to ORY. LYS is introduced as a seasonal ski destination. There are 2 x weekly services to TFS and LPA which are shown with TOM flt numbers, suggesting they are in addition to the charter unit.

PSA, IBZ, VLC and PMI don't appear to be operating over the winter.

Was wondering why the Thomsonfly services to Lanzarote are stopping off in Faro on the way home , this applies to the Bournemouth service as well this winter on a Wednesday

The aircraft i would have thought would have the range to get back to both BOH and DSE without tech stopping as the TFS and LPA services to DSA are operating non stop
