almost professional - if you have folowed the antics of 706 fan,you may understand why we get angry. He obviously supports HUY,which is fine, but he continually tries to create rumours about DSA. He has also been very abusive, and there just is no call for this. Some of his statements just HAVE to be replied to,as they can be damaging to DSA.

He also comes from Brigg, a town of many pubs and not much else, including the ability for constructive comment.....

The 7006 Fan post

Firstly congratulations on the big opening and I love the shiny floor!

Understandably 7006 fans post, if it isn't true is a little silly to say the least, but he has a point. ATC is an issue at DSA and needs addressing prior to his silly rumour becoming a reality. I have spoken to various ATC controllers who have said that they are glad they don't have the pleasure of controling traffic heading for DSA. One thing was highlighted is that come the summer when light VFR a/c are in abundance it will be a controllers nightmare.

I would hope to see as much effort by you guys on getting some sort of controlled airspace, as you have put into getting this show on the road!

Once again, good luck!

I was at Armthorpe MotoX park yesterday afternoon. It was great to see a couple of jets coming in to land, just to the east of the tracks. I even heard my little lad go "coooorrrrrrr" as he rode around on his quad

First jet was a Thompson fly, second was nearly all white in colour.

Also saw a Hercules in the immediate area - had that popped in?

Regarding GA traffic, does anyone know if we are still welcome, as I would like to bring my little lad in, even if it's just a touch and go? Are charges now in place?

Regards

-

Well done to all involved for getting everything off the ground on time, and what an amazing level of support all around the airfield on the day.

A few shops still to open up, I presume they will all be ready shortly?

7006, keep knocking DSA to your heart's content. HUY is too far East, and it is never going to get the attention that DSA will. I'm saying this as a Midlander looking at the cold hard facts of Geography!

MikeeB,
I believe landings are free for GA until the end of May and will then be half price for June before being the normal charge (whatever that is?)

More new flights for Summer 2006 from Thomson.

In the preview brochure for Lakes & Mountains Salzburg and Verona are listed.

The website says a new major tour operating brand name is about to join the existing line up, anyone any ideas?

Could it be an official announcement for the MYT-BY shared flights for next summer?

Perhaps Zoom, Air Transat or Thomas Cook/Canadian Affair would be more likely for any Canada service?
