Well we already have 19 based aircraft this summer, but of course thats without the works.

I imagine they will find some way around it.

3 757s based! Wowza LOL.

Looking forward to flight BY148A on Monday, indeed that will be a 757, hope AEU start a ZTH service alongside HER and RHO.

Just seen the local news.It was reported that the Astraeus flight from Mahon, had to make an emergency landing in northern France due to pressurisation problems.I'm sure after recent events,it was precautionary.Anybody have anymore details?.

As far as I know the TFS from last night will go on STRF from MAN, the VRN has been to subbed to 2 Titan and another airline, the ALC is apparently going on a Tri-star from MAN with the MJV this afternoon and hopefully STRB will be arriving this evening to take over the programme. Hope this helps.
Very impressed how they have managed to sort things quickly!

Astraeus Summer 2006

Went to price up a holiday in Crete today for next summer flying from LBA. The T/C company didn't even know their flight was on the system. So now they know they can get on with selling them.

'The lady was truly amazed when I told her the flight was on her system, when she'd found it, she went on to shout NEWS FLASH!! NEWS FLASH girls!! Two new Greek destinations available from LBA! The lady commented "we're always having to send people to Manchester", so there is obviously the market for the flights.

Does anyone have any news on the other new Astraeus services for Summer'06?

Excellent that they were on the system

Shame more people dont know about them though, I emailed LBA the other night to ask why they werent mentioned on the website, still awaiting a reply.

Lets stil hope that SSH and ZTH can be added before next summer, apparantly a 73G to be based at LBA next summer, looks like been one of LBAs best summers for charters, destinations wise.

Its just amazing that this has finally come the year after DSA opened, the airport many said (Not me), would spell the end of LBA charter destinations! Varna, Paphos and Bodrum amazed me, especially when they have put so much into DSA.

Still disapoointed ZTH was dropped though, the flight seems to operating from DSA next summer, with identical flight times to the LBA flights this summer, as said before, I fly LBA-ZTH on monday (Yes!), and then ZTH-LBA two weeks later, will have to make the most of it!

Nice to see

LBA,

I have been wondering now for a while, why the Thomson Zakynthos flight had been moved to DSA, yet other destinations added from LBA.

I know it is a long shot, but I think it could be that we're going to have a 767 based at Leeds for the whole of summer 2006. Explanation, I know that ZTH does not have heavy lifting equiptment to handle the Boeing 767, this is a major frustration for the handling guys and causes potential delays on turnaround switching the aircraft to a manual configuration.

Like I said it's a long shot and I know it is talked about every year, 'is the 767 here for the full season'. Guess we'll not know untill well into the winter season Any thoughts on this guys(and Gals)?

Well ive read we are having the 757 all summer... strange, maybe they think their is more demand for Paphos, Bodrum and Varna.

The 767 operated to Zakynthos for the 1st couple of months of this year, it had no probs AFAIK.

Im off there tomorrow! 07:20 out of LBA, cant wait!

hi

Just been looking on the swefly website and the latest timetable shows LBA & LTN are both reduced to 2 times weekly. Also the airline Skavasta - Lahore route is been reduced down to just 4 weekly return flights and connections are not showing for Copenhagen anymore. Its the Saturday service that has been dropped from LBA from 2nd September.

Still operates the thursday Afternoon and Sunday/Monday over nighter.

New Timetable below

The Lahore flights are full into Sweden, Even over booked.
Also taking as much cargo as possible.

The Leeds and now Luton flights will all be with the 767 no feeder aircraft from the 4th Sept.

Looks like BKK will start 8 dec four times per week too.

Jet 2 to New York

Anyone know if Jet 2's pans to fly to new york are anything more than just rumours?

Apparently it was mentioned in one of their inflight magazines this summer - but are there any FIRM details on this?

Jet2 Leeds Expansion

I understand Jet2 are looking at flights to Cyprus, don't know how reliable the information that I recieved is, but at a guess I am sure a number of new "SUN" routes will be announced shortly to give the 757s some work to do. I would expect Gran Canaria will now be on the airlines hit list.

Can anyone confirm?

It's well over 2 weeks now since the RHO and HER flights went on sale with TC Holidays but still not a single word about it on the LBIA website. I've just checked the TC website and they are still selling the flights so why are the marketing dept not promoting these "new" holiday destinations? I take it they must know about them.......

LBIA do know about these new flights to Rhodes & Heraklion

I sent them a email last week saying these new flights were on sale but no notice of them on there web-site 1 week later?

Anyway they replyed saying, They where pleased that the new flights had been added to the summer 2006 charter programme but they had been put on sale before been notified by the tour operator.

Do they want to make these routes work?? Who knows, Tour Operators seem to want to, Astraeus seen to want to make it work, But the airport dose'nt seem to want to advertise them. Why?? Come on LBA, it is'nt to much to ask, is it??

Swe Fly

Looking at their website, I don't see how they will have capacity to use the B767 on the LBA & LTN flights, unless they are getting a third?

When the BKK starts it deps at 1400, and returns at 1800 the next day (7 hour turn-round in BKK?). The LHE flight deps at 2100 and gets back at 1245 the next day. So once the aircraft are into the program there's no gap to be able to LBA or LTN?
