BBAE,
AFAIK runway 27/09's closure is imminent to make way for an additional five stands and possibly another five after that. I seem to remember this was covered on this forum last month if you want to look back a bit.
Sorry but I have to agree with POL1W. Send Aztecbird an e-mail or phone them or Metro but don't ask on here. It just isn't the place, my friend.

I'm intrigued to know Inkjet, what is it you do exactly that (if the content of your posts is an accurate guide) that sees you flying aircraft, being privy to scheduling and aircraft allocation issues at bmi and now it seems some sort of industrial plumber / surveyor.
The concrete floor for hall B was laid early Feb last year, so if this did occur at the construction phase, that implies it's been going for a year. Why has it only come to light now? Where have the 2.4 million gallons of water gone? Why are Britannia checking in hall B this morning if it's a big problem?
Is this genuine or just more mischief making because its Jet2 & LBA.

Not at all dear boy
Its not a major problem other than the cost of water and the worry of where its all going. I don't think it will effect Jet2 other than if you have to start breaking through 2 m meters of concrete with a jack hammer whilst people are checking in. As long as the leak is not under the belt system, which would be a major problem. Hopefully we can get that sorted well before Jet2 are in.
Used to fly a bit lost the old medical still do a bit around the airport and some driving, you be amazed what you and your colleagues say on the way to Manchester let alone your bosses phone calls.
No grind with JET2 i think they have done unbelievably well in a few short years and only wish i was a few bob behind Mr Messon
Cheers

now where did i park my JCB

You will find the Aztecbird website uncontactable as it ceased trading on the day 'FIRST' took over the service having won the LBA contract.
I can confirm the news about the water leak to be correct. I don't want to say anything else as it looks like someone could be in 'deep blue waters' over this one!!
I'm sure they'll sort it out in due course, like the middle of the summer peak season.

At risk of stating the obvious try emailing Frits or asking a question on LBA2 instead of here. Being allowed to read and participate in professional discussions on this site is a privilege, we hobbyists should take care not to abuse the hospitality of Danny and his team.

Indeed, but it looks like we found the leak yesterday, about 6 foot short of the belts, but looking at the hole i am not sure that we would have lost 6k a day but water is funny stuff.
Tomminyork
Aztec have gone to the wall and their garage business and second hand car site as well, which is a shame as i bought a car from them and they looked after me well. The buses were the pits though and First Bus are much better, the buses are mainly brand new and much better although you have to pay now if your airport staff
Have you tried the BusesRus.com site!!
Cheers

682,
You'll know this already if you've read my PM but for the benefit of everyone else... the BMI London City service is being advertised by way of a large 'sandwich board' mounted on the back of a van.
Saw it outside the terminal yesterday afternoon. It then moved down the road close to the roundabout where it parked up. I haven't seen it today but I'm sure it's about somewhere.
This is excellent. Whoever is behind it now needs to do the same or more for the rest of the airport and our local airline fraternity.
Jolly good show !

This combined with an offer of free parking at LBA for LCY passengers would suggest that the penny has finally dropped that this route won't sell itself. I still find it remarkable that the two airports invested a considerable amount of time and effort in securing the service and then did so little to promote it. There does seem to be a trend of airports and airlines failing to take ownership of who should promote new routes and all too often, as in this case, it falls down the gap in the middle and nothing happens.
Still at least something is happening now and lets hope its a success. My suggestion would be to 'park' the advert around the gateways to the main railway stations in the region on weekday mornings and send it on a few tours of Harrogate, Ilkley etc on the weekend so that the people most likely to use the service actually get to know of it's existence.

I will be on LBA-LCY in a couple of weeks time so naturally was very pleased when I heard about the free parking. Incentives like this help, but they need to tell the region at large that the service exists. I liked 682's suggestions of where to display the 'sandwich board' advert. A much cheaper alternative to newspaper advertising and you are informing your core market.
Hopefully I'll be able to report encouraging loads from my flights to/from LCY.

If the water leak has been found, has it been delt with now? Had a look today, the whole was completely covered.

Just to touch on what you said, just seen an LBA advert in the YP newspaper mentioning the free parking. Looks like the marketing team have actually been given a advertising budget to play with. For once, well done LBA. Keep up the good work!
IT HAS BEEN NOTICED BY US SO THE PAYING PUBLIC WILL HAVE NOTICED IT TOO
