Talking Can Chek Lap Kok handle the A380?

Hi
Im completing my Masters in Aviation in New Zealand and trying to establish why Chek Lap Kok can handle the A380.
I cant find specfic data on the runway and taxiways and would love to hear from someone in the know!
A plate on CLK would be ideal or any discussion points
Please help!

CLK is probably one of the airports best able to handle the A380 - though the airfield itself probably wasn't built in the best place!! (a lot of operational & environmental restrictions).

I have a Feb 2003 copy of the HKG AIP on CD (.pdf files) - the AD section is about 3.5mb, and doesn't have the large scale charts (too big). If you want me to send you a copy, PM me.

Code F

Thats the ICAO airport design code that has been developed for the new large generation of a/c. The A380 with a near 80m wingspan exceeds Code E (wingspans greater than 52m but not including 65m) so it will be up to each airport to declare its capability against the design criteria.

As the debate on the physical distances for wingtip clearance continues it may be a bit premature to take things as gospel.

Clearly older airports may struggle to meet some of the objectives hence the current deliberations within ICAO.
