Big T

Possibly, given choice i prefer MYT anyway. Baby are getting a reputation for running late (according to a Baby CC member who lives near me)

Banzai,

Whilst I don't doubt your CC friend, it could be that it is only a perception. According to the flightontime stats, MYT Lite average delay is 16 mins versus BMIBaby at 20 mins, based on the first quarter of 2004.
Airline Punctuality
Which links me nicely back to the MYT problems. Perception. Whilst I would be the first to admit that MYT have more than their share of problems, once a company develops a bad reputation (in whatever area) it is very hard to shake that reputation off. Whilst some people hark back to the heady days of Airtours International, having an airline labelled as Scaretours does not instill confidence in the travelling public, no matter how tongue-in-cheek the name is supposed to be. The groups reputation on the stack markets was severely damaged by a series of profit warnings a couple of years ago and it is going to take a lot of work to recover that reputation, although I do believe that it will happen. Optimism is the only thing that gets me into work at the moment!

I know it's only a small consolation but I have noticed that the BA website is showing vacancies again.

This time they have expanded their catchment beyond A320 and B777 / B744 rated pilots. A B75/76 rating and quite a few hours will get your application looked at. (For free)

It almost looks like they tailored the latest requirements to include some of the MYT guys. If you're young enough it might just be the job...

Good Luck to all.

Oh goodie goodie, it wouldn't happen to be an ex-crab in a post with a 3 letter abbreviation would it? That would be the best thing for morale they could do, might even get someone with a management capability in.......................

Hi There,

Just out of interest, as an employee of the company...no one at all has really mentioned to us what financial benefit we will get out of it, as in...how much we gonna save in total.

Long Term...we will...but what about the immediate future...with pay off etc.

Has anyone actually been told how much we will save by doing the down sizing.

Hope everyone is well and speak soon

Look forward to any replies

Cheers

TJ, if you are an employee then speak to your line manager, you'll know that there is a 90 day consulatation period before any notice is served so no-one will be made redundant until February. Expect the legal minimum and nothing more, why should they with the state they are in ?

ps. Tim Jeans resigned yesterday, how encouraging - lead from the front

This did not apply to the directors with their big pay off so why should it apply to anyone else!

TJ, take a reality pill. If anyone knows they aren't going to tell you. MyTravel is MORIBUND ! Hard to face facts, but that is it.

Have you heard this, I assume your post is tongue in cheek as Directors are on a somewhat different contractual arrangement from the workers, they will walk with millions whilst the company goes under. Twas always the way. The workers contract will only entitle them to legal minimum redundancy (if there's any left)

Wait for the next announcement........coming soon.

FLEX,

Stop scare mongering.

Prove your source instead of hearsay, then you might have some credibility.

This was the "extra" redundancy to which I referred earlier.

He is going - leaves tomorrow for gardening leave - various rumours abound including Excel to head up their web/direct sales operation and FlyBe.
