flyglobespan getting 738s?
Flyglobespan's chairman is quoted in this article saying they have "ordered" two 737-800s for delivery next spring. Does anyone know if they are to be bought or leased? - I think they lease 2 or 3 aircraft from ChannEx at the moment, but do they have any 738s?

Currently flyglobespan have 3 a/c at GLA:
G-OTDA & G-GSPN, which are dry leased 737-300, and TF-ELC wet leased from Icelandflug. I'm not sure of the EDI setup, but I assume that it is 2 Channex wet leased a/c.
Deals have apparently been signed for 2 737-800 aircraft to join us from April next year. I understand that these have been bought by flyglobespan. These will be GLA based and in addition to the 2 G reg 737-300s. There is a possibilty that this may rise to 4 737-800s, but let's wait until we see the winglets on the apron
As an aside, it's a good company to fly for, great people to work with, and who knows - if the SNP make a headway in the Scottish Parlaiment and independance looms, we could end up as the country's flag carrier (after all, Air Scotland is a bunch of Greeks!)[IMG]

readback correct,
any news on possible new routes for globespan from GLA? Perhaps some Long Haul?
Hope globespan are doing well, i cant see them having too much competition from Air scotland - all their flights seem to be cancelled or routed through EDI!

Thank's for the info readback correct.
I was under the impression that G-OTDA & G-GSPN were wholly owned by flyglobespan, as opposed to just dry-leased?
Glad to hear your positive thoughts on the airline - I haven't seen much mention on pprune of how things were going thus far - hardly a day goes by on pprune without hearing about Jet2 this and EUJet that, but we don't see much about flyglobespan
It would be nice to see new routes - I would personally like to see GLA-CDG or ORY - surely Mr Dalrymple's not afraid of MOL

A319

A321
A330
B717
B738 (confirmed)

In the meantime, we're happy with the 733 and prospects of the 738 over the winter. As for the others lets wait until we see it on our rosters.
