Easy new routes?
Hey All,
Anyone within Easyjet know when the new routes will be released? It says on the website in the next ten days but its said that since last Friday?

It will likely be after 23 October as all airlines must send their preliminary data to the IATA scheduling conference co-ordinators office by that date. The SC115 takes place this year 14-22 Nov in Boston. But the workd will be out on most airlines on 23rd Oct.

easyJet announces major expansion in Italy
easyJet, Europe’s leading low cost airline today announces it is expanding its Italian operations with four new routes connecting the UK and Germany with some of Italy’s most attractive destinations.
The new routes are:
London Gatwick to Olbia, commencing 27 May 2005
London Luton to Cagliari commencing 21 April 2005
Berlin to Olbia commencing 8 April 2005
Berlin to Pisa commencing 8 April 2005
All services are once daily and the Luton - Cagliari service will increase to twice daily for the peak summer period. Seats will be on sale at easyJet.com within the next 48 hours, with fares from £27.99 one way (£50.98 return including taxes and changes).
easyJet recognises the great potential for low cost services in Italy and with the addition of these new routes will offer a choice of 20 routes to nine cities with 44 daily departures. In the last 12 months around 1.3 million passengers flew on easyJet’s Italian routes, an increase of 31% on the previous year. As demand increases for both business and leisure travellers, easyJet expects to see its passenger numbers on all Italian flights significantly increase in 2005.
From April 2005, consumers in Sardinia and Tuscany will be able to take advantage of easyJet’s famously low fares to a range of destinations and experience its excellent low cost services to main city destination airports.
Ray Webster, easyJet Chief Executive, said:
"Following the success of our services to a variety of Italian cities, easyJet is delighted to be adding Pisa, Cagliari and Olbia to our network.
Italy is the second largest low cost airline market in Europe and although a number of other airlines may be facing commercial difficulties, easyJet views Italy as a vibrant and highly attractive market with great potential and we look forward to expanding further with more connections to main city destination airports”.

Does anybody know what is going on with RYR/EASY at Knock and Shannon. I heard Easy's marketing launch happened in Ireland today and that they are selling Knock as Galway. Ryanair have launched a Gatwick from Knock in addition to their Stansted. What a patch to pitch a loco battle....low volumes.....low yields.....no catchment area. If it were worth fighting for you could understand...and Shannon is not much better. Where will it all end? and why did Easy not include Kerry....after all this is where Ryanair have the highest Irish yield. Any thoughts?

I'm surprised EZY haven't yet started LTN - Naples, or LTN - Palermo or Catania, given the large communities with southern Italian or Sicilian origin in north London and Bedfordshire. In years gone by there have been seat-only charters from LTN to one or more of these cities.
