How do Amadeus know? Duo haven't published their summer timetable on their own website yet. Mind you wouldn't be surprised if they did start operating the high-speed turboprop it would be significantly cheaper than using the CRJ200s on their shorter routes.

Just a thought but it may be that DUO could also in the long term be using these new aircraft to open a new base at Bournemouth which the company has talked about , possibly in Sept as reports in the Travel Trade Gazette suggest s
Lets hope so !

Replacements

I don't think these aircraft are a fleet expansion,as Scotavnet report that CRJs G-DUOF/G are being withdrawn from use 6/04 and 12/04 respectively.

Looks as though they realise that economics dictate larger, more frugal aircraft.

Can't wait to see the Saab 2000 in Duo colours. Hopefully it is a good business move on their part.

Bring the Dash-7 back!! Good luck to DUO anyway......wonder where they're getting the planes from. Do they still build them??

I flew on a Crossair Saab 2000 from BSL to LCY in '98 ish. Very nice a/c, pretty quiet inside and very stable.

Surprised that they haven't been able to get a good deal on Dash 8 -400.

Yeap, the Saab 2000 is a nice A/C to fly. I've got about 2'500 hours on it. Great perfo and short field is a piece of cake! Just buy yourself a good ANC headset as it is loud in the cockpit... Now I fly a 4 engined "whale" but for how long???

Do you know if DUO will hire SB20 rated pilots? And how would it be to work for them?
