Hello
Well i think Thomas cook are basing here, my friend has just replied to a job with them for EMA.
Well what is a duo ? i know duo at BHX, not EMA though ?
I have heard that the monarch service to india and bahrain is now twice weekly, BY are doing the Barbados again in the autumn.
BY now have a 767 based here at EMA, and also heard that KLM are coming in the Autumn to start here, nice one ! Does anyone know if this is true ?

Well a couple of things. When KLM withdrew their EMA-AMS service it was a surpirse to most as the demand always seemed to be their.
At the time BD also offered 3 flights a day with DC9, with interlining service through AMS.
These days the WW service is twice daily with a 737, but no interlining. Maybe KLM see the opportunity to reintroduce their worldwide connections from Nottingham.
Time will tell.

Information i have on summer 2004 at East Midlands:
Excel Airways w flights to Palma and Corfu
Britannia airways basing 1x Boeing 767-200 and 1x Boeing 767-300, the 767-300 becoming a 757-200 in mid July
My Travel basing 2x Airbus A320-200
Air 2000 basing 1x Airbus A321-200
Thomas Cook basing 1x Airbus A320-200
Easyjet basing 3x Boeing 737-300, A319s operate from Geneva on w flight every day
Bmibaby basing 7x Boeing 737-300/500
BMI Regional basing 1x Embraer ERJ-145
Eastern Airways basing 1x BAe Jetstream 41
Islandsflug basing 1x Boeing 737-300 at weekends only
Ryanair will operate 2 w flights from Dublin both Boeing 737-200s each day, only 1 of these operating on saturday and only one (the other) on sunday , a third w flight will operate from dublin and will be a 737-200 that will go out to Murcia and back in between this w flight, then 737s (i dont know what type) will operate w flights from Gerona once every day as well all from end of April. (can someone confirm the information about ryanair to be accurate).
Additional rumours i've heard KLM starting winter 2004/5 from EMA, the Duo CRJ on saturdays i would have thought going to Innsbruck, also First Choice Airways starting a Cancun service from East Midlands can anybody confirm these for definate
All this information should be accurate......so EMA should all in all look forward to an excellent summer hopefully increase the annual passenger numbers up from 4.3 million last year to over 4 and a half getting towards 5 this year.

I've just received First Choice's new Summer Sun 2005 brochure and have announced NEW services from Nottingham East Midlands including..
- A new weekly service to Sanford-Orlando operating on Thursdays departing at 11:00 and arriving back at EMA at 06:00.
- An additional Ibiza service as a 'W' on Sundays,
- An additional service to Tenerife on Fridays operated by Futura International Airlines,

It has been rumoured to be changed to Durham Tees Valley for a while, but in a recent bmibaby press release they called the airport Teesside (Durham), so who knows what it is going to be called! I wish they would make a decision and stop all the confusion!

First Choice announces three long haul routes from Nottingham.
The East Midlands region and beyond can look forward to long haul services from Nottingham from summer 2005 as First Choice announces they are to expand their portfolio from NEMA.
The introduction of Florida, the Dominican Republic and Cancun in Mexico comes just months after the Airport changed its name - a move intended to encourage new routes and bring new airlines into the Airport.
The new services will start in May 2005, with Florida holidays now on sale and the Dominican Republic and Cancun available to book from 29th April 2004. Both destinations will be available with nil flight supplements.
First Choice are now offering an improved service for passengers. As part of their standard flight package, passengers will now receive larger seats, a choice of meal and widescreen 7" seatback entertainment. Those travelling in premium seating receive further increased facilities.

Have Islandsflug got a 747??? I suspect this is a typing error as I cannot see a 747 operating into airfields like Skiathos. Me thinks it should read "737" ... one number makes such a difference.

I had heard that the Girona flights are going to be operated with 738s as opposed to 732s, which I know are operating the DUB/MJV flights. Apparently, we're supposed to look out for more Ryanair destinations ex-NEMA for either this winter, or next summer!
Apparently, bmibaby are trying to encourage their new partner airline Germanwings to launch flights from what I believe are Koeln/Bonn & Stuttgart. Germanwings are looking into a partnership with Snowflake, who a friend of mine informed me could be launching flights from CPH as a low-cost alternative to the SAS mainline flights from BHX.
KLM would be interesting to have at NEMA, altough surely with all the no-frills competition at the airport, Basiq Air is more likely?

Electric Sky - I thought exactly the same thing - this is the copy of the press release. Just couldn't understand whyt hey are making such a fuss about "New Aircraft" if it is 737-400 - afterall East Mids is hardly unacustomed to 737's.

islandflug B737 arrived from iceland on friday night on a DHL trip-was then tugged on to main apron ready for first flight saturday morning (TFELA I think)
Its new in the sense that normally Kosmar bought seats on other carriers rather than operate their own
