Backpackers Express

There was an article in the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper last week, in the Finance section, on Backpackers Express. It seems that they are in talks with Singpore Airlines to acquire 2 of their 747-400's, and hope to launch their Melbourne to Manchester service at the end of they year. It also suggested that SIA are in discussions to take a financial stake in the new airline.

Good news for Manchester, if they ever make it into the air. But I think I'll stick to Qantas via LHR for my occasional visits back home!
