AUH to pull out of Gulf Air [GF] & rough times ahead with Jet Airways
Speculation going through the senior ranks of Gulf Air and cabin crew is that AUH are set to cut funding for Gulf Air.
This is due to the investment in AUH's new national airlines: Etihad Airways.
This is set to prove more problematic for Gulf Air as Etihad are now serving many routes in direct comeptition with Gulf Air.
e.g: LHR - AUH; AUH - Asia
Gulf Air will come under more competiton later this year as domestic airline Jet Aiways goes international and starts flying direct LHR - BOM; LHR - DEL; LHR - India; India - Middle East.
This will again prove problematic for Gulf Air as many pax who fly Gulf Air, fly with onward connections past the middle east and on to asia/far east.

Pulling out of AUH with their desire for scheduling relating to "tails on the ramp" rather than commercial considerations and concentrating all ops in BAH could be the best thing ever to happen to GF........
