Fokker 50s scrapped!

Watched in amazement yesterday whilst the first of two fokker 50 a/c went under the cutter at Maastricht-Aachen (EHBK) airport.
They had been sitting there for quite a while in SAS commuter colours and must only have been 12-13 years old ! Don't understand it at all . The second will be gone by tonight I would think . Shame .

I would scrap all of them. Having flown KLMcityhopper many times, I think the F50s are slow, noisy and outdated. Having said that, all a/c should have jet engines imo.
