Emirates to go Self Handling
Rumors are that Emirates are to drop their ground handling agent (United Airlines) from LHR and start self handling in April/May.
They are also going to increase their frequency LHR - DXB.

As a member of BA ramp services I would consider this rumour without foundation. The costs of equipment / accomodation / recruitment / uniforms / passes / vetting and safety considerations to set up self handling would be astronomic and unless the group could get more work from other airlines.

I think I should clarify... I mean self handling for check-in and boarding which United Ailrines is currently operating
This is after talking to Emirates supervisors at LHR and the adverts in the Skyport (local Heathrow Airport newspaper) for EK PSA's (Passenger Service Agents). I got a job with EK and was due to start in April, but declined the offer.
